Have you checked my previous post about relaxing bathing with bath salts??? I have promised to write about steps to prepare these magical crystals. So here I am with the promised post.
So read on to make the bath salts and enjoy the spa day at home…!!!
What are the ingredients we need??
I will tell you 3 different types of bath salts’ preparations. I am gonna mention the uses of ingredients we need for preparing all of them in one single list.
- Salt
Epsom salt – For base.
Sea Salt – For healing properties.
Himalayan Pink Salt – To increase mineral quality.
- Essential Oil
Who doesn’t love the nice fragrance bathing experience. To get that aroma, we will add some essential oils.
You can choose any of the essential oil of your choice. Here are few suggestions.
Floral – Rose, Lilly, jasmine
Fruity – Vanilla, citrus
Strong – Peppermint
Mixture of any of the above.
- Dried herbs
You can add dried herbs / dried fruits / dried petals to your salt. It will add aroma and increase the effectiveness.
- Food Color
This is optional. But, if you add some food colors to salt it will look more attractive for sure.
- Glycerin
For adding moisture
- Baking soda
For whitening property
- Borax and kaolin clay powder
For softening water as well as your skin. Help in curing in muscle strains and tension. Plus, they also have mineral properties.

Bath salt 1: Colorful Cutie
Step:1
Take Epsom salt and sea salt, one cup each.
Step:2
Take one table spoon of your favorite essential oil.
Step:3
Take the dried herbs/petals/fruits. You can put the petals/herbs as a whole or you can grind them into fine powder. I personally prefer adding the powdered petals instead of adding them as a whole.
Step:4
Mix the salt in a bowl.
Step:5
Add the powdered petal/herbs. Mix them with the mixture of salt.
Step:6
Add essential oil and food color. Stir them well. Make sure whole mixture is flavored/colored uni-formally.
Step:7
Store the salt in an airtight container. Enjoy your bath by adding this salt to your bath tub.

Bath Salt 2: Moisturizing Bath
Step:1
Take one cup of Epsom salt and one cup of baking soda.
Step:2
Take one table spoon of essential oil and glycerin.
Step:3
Take the dried herbs/petals/fruits in suitable form i.e. powdered or whole.
Step:4
Mix the salt in a bowl.
Step:5
Add the powdered petal/herbs. Mix them with the mixture of salt.
Step:6
Add essential oil and glycerin. Stir them well. Make sure mixing is done nicely.
Step:7
Done. happy dance Don’t forget to store it in suitable container.

Bath salt – 3 Softening Baby
Step:1
Take two cups of Epsom salts, two cups of borax, ½ a cup of kaolin clay powder.
Step:2
Take one table spoon of essential oil for beautiful aroma.
Step:3
Mix the salt in a bowl.
Step:4
Mix 1½ tea spoon of essential oil.
Step:5
Mix the ingredients well and store in a cute container for use.
