We know about some super foods which are helpful for weight loss, some are useful for health of skin and body. You know there is a way to consume certain food in order to get most of thebenefits??? Also, there are certain healthy food which we need to consume with certain conditions.. Else they might be harmful to you.

We have read and heard a lot about lemon water consumption at the start of the day. It is ideal to consume the lemon, honey water on empty stomach. Thus it helps in flushing out toxins from our body. Right??? Have you ever thought whether it is applicable to other food as well or it is good to consume healthy food on empty stomach to get the best out of it??? Umm… Well, no. Let’s see what happens if I eat below mentioned food or drink on empty stomach.

Apple:

Even though apple is famous to keep the doctor away due to its rich nutrients, it should not be consumed on empty stomach. Reason being – apple has monosaccharides. This can be easily absorbed when eaten on empty stomach. Thus resulting in blood sugar level fluctuation.

Water:

This is the best one to consume when you wake up. Water acts as a alarm for your internal organs. It wakes them up and makes them ready for their day work.

Tomato:

I love eating raw tomatoes. The other day when I was eating tomato early in the morning as a part of my ‘healthy start’ of the day, my roommate told me it is not at all healthy. As she works in a health care company, she has good knowledge about these things. She then said, tomato has pectin and tannin in them. Which may have chemical reactions with acid and facilitate the formation of insoluble substance in the stomach. Ooopss…!!

Banana:

If banana is consumed on empty stomach, it will upset the stomach. Especially those with gastrointestinal diseases should avoid eating bananas on empty stomach.

Tea/Coffee:

Drinking theses hot beverages on empty stomach results in acidity. It might also cause vomiting.

They are great for health. But if consumed on empty stomach, the fibre and amino acids present in them may harm the stomach lining. This leads to abdominal pain and flatulence.

Sweets or Desserts:

You might be thinking who does that??? Desserts on empty stomach… Well, I do… haha. I can have dessert anytime. Like forget about late night, even if my stomach is full and about to burst, I know I have that small space where I can accommodate dessert.

But, eating desserts on empty stomach is not a sweet thing to do. Because they load the body with sugar, thus increasing pressure on pancreas and the liver.

Highly acidic in nature, when they mix with stomach acids, they cause nausea and gas This may also result in cramp and body pain.
