This Eyeliner With Smudger from L’OrΓ©al Paris – Great Pick or Not…!!!

Hey,

You know there are advantages of being a shopaholic… πŸ˜‰ By spending more than 5k per year on Nykaa, I have become a Prive member. I love the queen tiara icon we get against our name in Nykaa account. It’s like we are being crowned as a shopaholic queen. πŸ‘Έ

So, perks of being a member is, we get different discount coupons. A birthday gift on our birthdays. I might have missed mentioning this, but I had received a beautiful makeup bag last year on my birthday, from Nykaa.

Since I have 6 coupons for free shipments which are valid till this month end, the shopping Addict gal inside me thought of making most of it. Hence ordered items below 500( Amount eligible for free shipping) separately. Mostly I have ordered my favorite makeup i.e. Eye makeup products.

Today I’m gonna review one of those products. Eyeliner from L’Oreal Paris.

What made me choose this one??? It has smudger with it. Which we can use to smudge the kajal or eye liner to get Smokey looks.

Let’s see whether I liked it or not…

Brand:

L’Oreal Paris

Name:

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Smoky Eyeliner

Price:

650 INR ( I got it for 480 something, after discount) for 1.2 g.

Shelf life:

28 months.

What Company Claims:

Packing:

It comes in a typical eye pencil packing. Color combination of the pencil being black and gold, it does look attractive. What makes it different is it is dual sided. One side the kajal and the other side is smudge brush or smudger.

Both sides have tight lids or caps, which are transparent. This makes it easy to differentiate between the kajal and smudger without having to open the caps to check.

Shades Available :

There are six shades available in this range.

  • Black Velour 201 (Black)
  • Mystic Grey 202 ( Dark Grey)
  • Brown Fusion 204 (Brown)
  • Stormy Sea 207 (Teal Green)
  • Antique Green 209 (Green)
  • Purple Dream 211 (Purple)

Shade I Picked:

Mystic Grey 202 – It’s a dark Grey. Falls towards black shade.

First stripe is without using a smudger. Second with couple of strokes of smudger.

Texture:

Creamy soft. Glides softly. Finishing is a matte finish one.

Smudger:

It is made up of soft rubber. A dome shaped smudger helps in smudging the kajal on waterline and eyeliner over the eyelids. Since this is soft, it glides along the waterline easily and does the job fairly well. Hence it saves your money in terms of buying a separate smudger brush.

My Take:

After looking at the reviews on Nykka, written by the customers who had bought this before, I finalized this one. It had worked on them. At least they have said it did. But it’s not the case with me.

As I said, it’s creamy thus making it easy to apply. The smudger is soft yet efficient. But, what turns me down is its staying power. It smudges very fast and looks bad. There is no way I could keep it smudge free.

If the eye product bleeds or smudges I don’t think it stands any chance to be a good product.

Good thing is the smudger. This works well. You can use this brush to smudge any other kajal or kohl, which you want to play with in order to create Smokey eye looks.

Things I liked About L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Smoky Eyeliner:

  • Packing is travel friendly.
  • Smudger is quite useful.
  • Creamy texture.
  • As company claims, removal of this product from eyes is easy.

Things I Didn’t like About L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Le Smoky Eyeliner:

  • Pricey.
  • Smudges a lot.
  • Claim of ‘long lasting’ is not true. Staying power is very less.
  • Retractable pencil would be more useful as the sharpening pencil results in wastage of product.

Will I Repurchase??

No. It didn’t work for me. Hence a bigg No. Instead of spending this much, I will buy some other eye products I know which cost less and does amazing job.

Will I Recommend??

Umm not really. On the basis of my experience, no.
