Bobbi Brown… One of my dream brands from the USA… Bobbie Brown is a professional makeup artist and founder of the cosmetics brand by her own name.
It’s a high end brand and was in my wish list till last week when I dreamt about it.
Let me explain. When I say I’m crazy when it comes to shopping, I’m damn serious. What you usually see in your dreams??? Do you see yourself shopping??? Well, I do.
Till date I have shopped three items which I saw in my dreams. Kylie Blush, Bobbie brown lipstick and Huda lipstick… I see myself shopping in dreams… When I wake up, I can’t stop thinking about them and I end up making my dreams come to reality. Phewww…
So, last week I saw this shade of lipstick from the brand Bobbie Brown and the moment I woke up I checked online the shades available. I found ‘the’ shade… Ummm you know what I did the very next second.
Here is the lipstick I bought… Let’s see how it worked on me…
Brand:
Bobbie Brown
Lipstick Range:
Crushed lipstick
Price:
1700 INR
Shelf Life:
27 months
What the company claims:
- Rich in Vitamins E and C and beeswax
- Balmy formula glides on comfortably
- Delivers a satin matte finish
- Blotted down, lived in look with one swipe
- Layers up for a more intense look
- Leaves lips hydrated and soft
- Feather and fade proof
- Last for eight hours
Shades Available:
20 Different shades available.
Shade which I own:
Babe
Color:
This is a red shade. Falls towards brown.
Ingredients:
Packing:
Outer cartoon is deep black in color. Has the brand name and name of the shade printed on it. Other details like ingredients, price, shelf life etc. are also mentioned on it.
Lipstick case is a black matte finished bullet. The plastic used is strong. Bullet is small and can be carried easily with you.
There is this colored strip on lipstick. Which is similar to that of the lipstick’s shade. Also the shade name present at the bottom of the case lets you differentiate the shade from outside.
Fragrance:
I am bit confused with the smell. It smell is sweet yet spicy.
Texture:
Not so creamy.
Color payoff:
It is good. One swipe is enough to paint your lips red. As company says, we can layer it up for an intense look.
Does this transfer?
Yes.
Does this bleed???
No. It doesn’t melts or bleeds.
Staying Power:
As and when it transfers and with time it lightens. It stayed for about 5 to 6 hours with food intake.
Moisturizing???
Umm I can say it doesn’t dry lips and doesn’t add that glossy moisture either.
Finish:
It’s neither matte nor a glossy finish.
What I liked about this lipstick:
- Color payoff
- Does not dry lips.
- Nice satin matte finish.
- Many shades to choose from.
- Travel friendly and attractive packing.
What I didn’t like:
- Pricey
- Staying power could have been better for the price we are paying.
- It transfers.
Will I repurchase???
Frankly, No. I know other brands which cost me less and does good job.
Will I recommend???
Umm no. I am not overwhelmed by this lipstick for the price I have paid. Instead I can recommend some red lipsticks which are ‘in’ the budget. If you want me to name them, do let me know in the comment section.
Mygirlypedia Rating: 3/5
Hope this review will help you with your next Bobbie Brown haul.
So the next time I dream of some high end product, I will think about it before buying.( I know which I won’t)
