Three Letter Mantra to Follow for A Beautiful Skin

Hellooo,

I have been writing a lot about makeup products in detail. I realised something which I was missing, when one of my friends asked me so innocently,” Pallavi, what is CTM??? Could you please write a post about it???”

So here is the post about the basement of skin care – CTM. Its an abbreviation. Each letter represents different basic products we need to keep the skin in good condition. Ummm you must have heard about these products… Any guesses???

C – Cleanser

T – Toner

M – Moisturizer

Let me explain more..

Cleanser-

As the name suggests, cleansing or cleaning. Cleaning skin from external dirt. There are different ways to cleanse your skin. I will write about it tomorrow.

Umm if you have a doubt about washing face is considered as cleansing??? I would say to a certain extent yes. But not every facial foam/wash can cleanse your skin pores completely. Not every face wash can remove your makeup. Agree???

Easiest way to cleanse your face is using a good cleanser. There are multiple cleansers available in market. I have been using a cleanser from the brand Garnier. I have already bought my second bottle already. You can check this post to know why I recommend this to you.

How to use:

Check the video here where I have demonstrated how to use toner.

Toner:

01

Toner is oil based liquid. It is used for ultra purification of facial pores.

No matter how good the cleanser might be there are chances that traces of makeup or impurity still persist inside pores. This will lead to pore clogging that in turn leads to pimples. Toner helps in removing that dirt from pores and leave them ready for absorption of moisture or serum which we will be doing in the next step.

Toner also provides soothing effect to skin and said to lighten the redness or blemishes if any. Point I want to mention here is, there are some toners in market which I had tried earlier gives tingling effect too…!!! May be that’s how they work. Personal suggestion, do not opt for alcohol based toner. As it might irritate your eyes. Because I had made that mistake I don’t want you, my dear reader, to do.

There are multiple brands with so many options for a toner. If you are thinking of which one to buy, I have a suggestion for you. Which suits every skin type and a budget friendly one or I would say it costs nothing. Rose water. Yes that’s the best toner you can find.
Check this out to know more about how to prepare rose water at home.

How to use:

Drop few drops of toner on cotton balls/pads. Apply it on face. No need to rub. Be gentle and pat it on face.

Moisturizer:

applying-moisturizer

As you all know what this is for.

Yes you are right, to add that extra moisture or hydration to your skin. Adding moisture to skin helps in improving texture and tone of skin.

Thing we need to take care is that one single moisturizer may not meet different skin needs. Every different skin type needs different moisturizer for a good care.

Dry skin – Badly needs more hydration. Oil based moisturiser is best for this type of skin.

Oily skin – We can not apply oil based moisturiser to already oil producing skin. Can we??? This will worsen the situation. Hence, light weight or water based moisturizer is ideal.

Normal/Combination skin – This type is a lucky one as they choose either (water/oil based) of the moisturisers as per their current need.

How to use:

Using fingers apply gently on face leaving eyes and lips area(I know it’s obvious but no harm in mentioning. hehe)

Now, the biggest question –

what’s the order to carry out these steps…

It’s in the word – CTM itself dearie…!!!

Cleanser then toner, followed by moisturizer.

Clean your face. Clean more. Add moisture.

See, this is that easy…!!!

Happy to help you…!!!

Happy CTMing…!!! haha… Muuuaahhh…
