OOTD: Chikan Kurti, Speciality of Lucknow
It’s a rainy day here in Pune. This was much much needed shower to calm down the humid weather.
Right now, it is drizzling outside. The smell of the mud and the cloudy dark weather making me miss my ‘comfort zone’, my bed so much. All I need is my bed, my cozy blanket, my laptop to watch my favorite series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and a bowl of hot French fries with mayonnaise. Ahh bliss..!!!
In the evening, when the signs of the rain started to appear, I just stepped out to get clicked by my dear friend. Of course to upload pictures of my OOTD on blog hehe.
Today I am wearing this Chikan kurti, which I had bought from a shop in a flea market. I love shopping in flea markets and of course street shopping. Don’t you???
The work Chikan means embroidery. This is one of the famous traditional textile decoration style from Lucknow. So the technique here is the white thread is embroidered on cool and pastel shades of light muslin and cotton garments.
Talking about the shade of this kurti, ahh many of my friends loved this kurti especially those, who love mangoes. hehe all thanks to it’s color. Even for me, it reminds me of mango flavored ice cream. That’s why I have named this one as Mango Kurti.
Paired the kurti with white leggings to keep the color combination neutral.
Ears, I wore these dark yellow threaded earrings with red beads.
As the sleeves are already 3/4th length, I avoided wearing any accessories on hands. Just to go with simple and sober look.
For footwear I wore this comfy gold toned flats from the brand Catwalk. Bought from the online store – Myntra.
PS: Some of my friends at office, complimented and made me post the pictures of today’s outfit on blog. That’s really sweet of them. When my friends talk to me about my passion, my blog, I am the happiest gal you can find around. haha 🙂
I hope you too liked my simple outfit of the day.
If you are in Pune right now, happy rainy day…!!! 🙂
