Review of The Most Pocket Friendly Kajal I have Ever Used

You guys have seen my review of the most budget friendly eyeliner I have ever used. Today, I am gonna review the super pocket friendly and super cute Kajal I have used so far.

The other day when I had been to a local drug store to buy some essentials, I just happened to see these cute little Kajal packs. I tried not to add them in my cart. But ahhh I couldn’t. You know how much I love eye makeup products right???

This cutie is from one of the renown brand, Himalaya Herbals.

I have used different products from this brand like, body lotion, lip balms etc. Which I really liked. This one is not an exception.

Let’s see why I liked this Kajal.

Brand –

Himalaya Herbals

Price –

Ahh it’s just 45 INR for 1g…!!! That’s why I said it is a pocket friendly one.

You can buy one here.

Shelf Life –

3 Years.

Ingredients –

Almond oil, Castor oil, Camphor, Damask Rose, Triphaia.

Packing –

The outer cartoon looks something like this.

It has all the details about the product.

The product comes in a bullet packing. This is so tiny and cute, can definitely be carried with you in your jeans pockets/ purses. I can say it is pocket friendly in terms of price as well as the travel friendliness.

Outer cap has this green, which is a typical Himalayan product’s green strip with all the details.

Plastic used for this bullet doesn’t seem to be super sturdy. There are chances that it might break.

The transparent tube makes it easy to keep track of the quantity of product left. Plus, the pointed tip makes application super easy. You don’t have to carry a sharpener to sharpen the tip to draw thin lines.

Fragrance –

I love the fragrance of these Ayurveda or home made Kajals. This Kajal smells the same. It’s not so over empowering too. So, even gals with sensitive nose can opt for this.

In case you want to know how to prepare Ayurveda/ pure Kajal or Kohl at home, do check this post.

Texture –

Texture is soft. It glides very softly.

Color payoff –

This is a deep black shade. One swipe is enough to get the dark look. Check the picture of my eyes where I have applied the kajal on waterline as well as eyeliner on eyelids.

Staying Power –

Anyways, company never claimed about it’s staying power. But in general, we do judge an eye product mostly on it’s staying power. Don’t we?? This one stayed till end of the day, like for 7-8 hours. But it did fade. Was not as intense as it was when it was applied.

Does it smudge???

Yes it does. Its not smudge proof and water proof.

I must say, I have so many other Kajals in my collection, for which I have paid way more than this one. But this Kajal had minimal smudge under my eyes than some of the expensive Kajals I own. For the money I am paying, I am ok with this minimal smudge.

Does it gives cooling effect??

Unlike what the company claims, it didn’t give any cooling effect as such.

What I liked –

  • Value for money.
  • Minimal smudge on my oily waterline.
  • Travel friendly packing.
  • Availability.
  • Color payoff is good.
  • It doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals.

What I didn’t like –

Even though it smudges a little, I am happy with it’s work. For the money I have paid, nothing to complain about.

Will I repurchase???

Even though it seems so tiny, little goes long way. So will definitely buy one more once I finish this. Chemical free, tiny, fairly working kajal, which doesn’t burn my pocket, so why not.

Will I recommend???

Definitely yes. Especially those gals who are taking baby steps into teh world of eye makeup. Who doesn’t want to spend more on eye makeup till they are confident enough. This one is definitely a yes.

Mygirlypedia Rating: 4.75/5 (For minimal smudging I am deducting minimal point. hehe )
