The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey Body Lotion : Review, Swatch

Hello Beautiful,

Body lotion is something which is really essential for my dry skin, especially in winters. Usually I do get tired of same lotion so I happen to try many varieties of body lotions/ creams. I will review one by one of those which I have not reviewed on my blog yet. Meanwhile if you want to know what are on my top of the best body lotion list, check here.

So, today I am reviewing this white beauty from the brand “The Body Shop”. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I still remember the day I had bought this beauty. The moment I entered the store, I could smell this fragrance. I immediately asked the sales assistant their, about this product. She showed me this range of products and rest is history haha.

Let’s see how this product is.

Brand: The Body Shop

Range : Almond Milk and Honey

Price : 950 for 200 ml

Click the below image to shop.

Shelf Life : 3 years. Once opened 12 Months.

What does the company claims?

48 Hours light weight moisture, absorbs instantly. Instantly relives the feeling of tightness and itchiness for sensitive, dry skin. Comforts, protects and restores moisture for sensitive dry skin.

Best part : It’s cruelty free. The Body Shop has special place in my heart because of their cruelty free products and the campaign they started to stop poor animals getting harmed while making cosmetics. ๐Ÿฐ

Packing : It comes in a tube packing, with all the details of the product printed on it. The design of milk, almond and honey looks beautiful. The white tube (sorry I had bought this tube last year and if the tube doesn’t look pretty white, don’t blame me. ๐Ÿ˜‹) packing is quite hygienic as compared to tub packing. You don’t have to dip fingers to take the product out. The flip open cap is tight enough to carry this lotion without the fear of spillage. The tube contains 200 ml of the product. I can’t say that you can carry this easily in your handbag as it might take a pretty more space than any other travel sized lotions. But, it can be a good travel companion if you carry it in a travel bag.

Fragrance : It’s a very sweet and refreshing fragrance. If you love light note scents, this fragrance will win your hearts for sure.

Consistency : It’s a lotion hence it’s neither runny nor thick. Doesn’t feel oily or greasy once applied. Gets absorbed quickly.

My Take: I have normal to dry skin. Turns out really dry during winters. For which, I need a good moisturiser. This lotion claims to instantly relives the feeling of tightness and itchiness for sensitive, dry skin. Which it did. Post bath our skin screams for moisture. I did apply this lotion and as claimed it did relive the dry or itchiness.

But, I don’t really support the 48 hours of moisture thing. Because for dry skin, at the end of the day at least, you do need one more round of application of moisturiser. Even though I didn’t feel itchiness all throughout the day, but by evening my skin was dry again. So I can say 48 hours promise didn’t worked for me.

What I liked:

  • I bought this because of this lovely fragrance.Non greasy, non-runny formula.

Non greasy, non-runny formula.

    • Kept skin moisturized for good amount of time. Tube packing is hygienic.Travel friendly packing.

Tube packing is hygienic.Travel friendly packing.

Cons:

  • It claims that this is formulated for sensitive dry skin. But worked moderately on my dry skin.

  • 48 Hours moisture claim is not true for dry skinned beauties.

  • Falls slightly on the pricier side for the work it’s doing.

Will I buy it again???

Umm no. It did a moderate job on my skin. I have known some other body lotions which worked well on my dry skin with cost lesser than this.

Will I suggest this one???

It might not be a blessing for dry skin but it will work for those who doesn’t have one. If you have extremely dry skin and needs lot of moisture, you can skip this. Others can give it a try, especially the ones who love sweet fragrances and need less moisture to skin.
