Dearpacker Royal Black – Black Tea & Black Rose Mask : Review and Swatch

I am a sucker for skin care products. Especially Korean skin care products are something I really love. Reason being, Koreans are amazing when it comes to skin care. They are quite famous for their amazing, spotless skin and the way they take care of it.

The face shop is a Korean skin care brand that has made it’s place in Indian skin care industry. With their amazing, yet affordable skin care range, it has succeeded in stealing all skin care enthusiasts’ hearts. Recently, The face shop had limited edition offer of it’s colloboration with Dearpacker. They had a combo of one product of each brand, with amazing discount prices. Needless to say, I added one to my cart and hit ‘buy’ button.

Lets know more about the combo and of course my experience with it.

They had 5 combos targeting different skin needs.

I went for black tea and black rose mask combo.

It came in a transparent, sturdy pouch. This zipper pouch is sure making space in my travel bag. ! The combo has a cleanser from The Face Shop and the mask from Dearpacker.

I will save a separate review post for the cleanser.

Shelf Life: 3 Years

Ingredients:

It has avocado oil and glycerine which are moisturizing.
Fruit extracts, fruit and flower oils which are good for skin.
Has alcohol..!!!

Added fragrances too..!!!

***And I have no clue why they have mentioned it as sheet mask, whereas it is clearly a face pack with cream consistency.!!! ***

Packing:
Outer cartoon looks royal with the black and golden combo. It has kettle, royal crown and saucer prints. Reminds me of Disney..!!

Directions to use, warnings, ingredients and other details of the product has been mentioned on the cartoon. ‘Directions’ mentioned on the pack is quite confusing. It describes the steps to use a sheet mask instead of a face mask..!!!

Inside of the outer cartoon has all the details printed in Korean language (I am totally assuming it as Korean because this product is made in Korea. I am not able to read it 😛 )

Product comes in this sturdy plastic jar. The cap of the jar has the same design as that of the outer cartoon. A spatula is also provided with the mask. So that you don’t have to dip fingers to take out the product.

Fragrance:
This has a very strong fragrance. It smells like Ayurveda medicine. Strong smell of green tea and hint of citrus note. I really didn’t like this smell. It is so strong that my eyes were watery. It lasts for some time and slowly fades away. If you have sensitive nose, I would say just try the tester once before buying it.

Color: It is light brown in color. You can see dried petals in the mask.

Consistency: It has gel like consistency. Neither thick nor runny.

My Experience:
My eyes were all teary at first when I opened the jar and tried applying.
Also it gave me tingling effect to my skin. I was really scared that it would damage my skin. It has that strong smell.!
But the smell started fading and it was quite mild in sometime. I left it on for 10 minutes or so and washed with water.

Pros:
1. Travel friendly packing.
2. It didn’t cause any breakouts.

Cons:
1. Falls on the pricier side. Since I got it in an offer, I am not complaining.
2. It has a very strong smell. Sensitive nose ladies, stay away.
3.

Will I Repurchase?
No. I don’t like strong fragrance products. So it’s a no.

Will I Recommend?
It didn’t do any magic on my skin. Since it also falls on pricier side, I am not recommending this to you.
