All You Need to Know About Orange Oil

I have been hearing a lot about vitamin C and essentials oils etc. Which help in taking care of skin not only by improving it’s texture but also aid the anti-aging process. So, just thought of gathering more information about them, so that I can include in my daily skin care regime and of course to share with you beautiful people.

For today, I am starting with one of the essential oils – Orange oil.

Let’s see how it’s going to help our skin and hair. Ready??? Hop in…!

How to Prepare Orange Oil at Home???

First thing first. How to prepare orange oil.

  • Peel off the orange peel and remove the white part by scratching. This will make sure the oil is more concentrated.
  • Place these peels in a glass jar.
  • Add vodka to the jar and shake well. Vodka helps to marinate.
  • Keep the jar in cold and dark place for a week.
  • After a week, filter out the liquid from the jar.
  • Place this liquid in ventilated space so that the alcohol in the liquid gets evaporated.
  • Post 2 to 3 days, the liquid free of alcohol smell is what we need – orange oil.

I know it takes a lot of time and patience to prepare one at home. But it is purest one you can get. No matter how good it can be, some are too lazy to wait for long. So, people like me, just go and buy one from online. hehe

How does it smell???

It smells like orange (obviously) but a very strong one.

Why You Should Use Orange Oil???

Mental health:

You must be thinking I started with the beauty benefits and first point says mental health. Well, well, if you are happy inside, your skin looks happy outside. Orange oil has this amazing fragrance which has proven to reduce depression or anxiety. It calms down the pulses and helps you relax. Now when you are calm and content from within, it definitely shows on your skin as well.

Treating Acne and Skin Infection:

Orange oil has anti-bacterial and inflammatory properties. Using diluted orange oil on acne, swelling or redness helps in soothing it.

Moisturizing:

Orange oil has been proved to add needed moisture to your skin when applied. Dry skin beauties, I hope you are listening.

Deep Cleanser:

Orange oil helps in cleaning the facial pores and thus avoids clogging.

Improves Blood Flow:

If you apply orange oil it gives slight tingling effect. Orange oil helps in improving blood flow thus helps you get glowing skin.

Anti-Aging:

You already know that the oil has anti-bacterial property. What you might not know is that orange oil also has antioxidants in it. Which are important to slow down the process of aging. This oil helps in stopping the appearance of lines and wrinkles on skin.

Reducing Dark Spots:

Orange oil has bleaching property. Which helps in lightening the skin tone. Regular usage of diluted orange oil on dark spots should fade them away.

Reducing Large Pores:

While keeping the pores super clean, it also helps in shrinking them. How??? Orange oil has tightening property, which helps in shrinking the facial pores.

Reduces Cellulite:

Many of us suffer from appearance of cellulite. Orange oil can be a handy if you also suffer from the same. Massaging the affected area with diluted orange oil helps in blood flow, softens the epidermis and thus helping in reducing the cellulite.

Reduces extra oil secretion:

I hope this point will bring a smile on oily skinned beauties. Using diluted orange oil on skin that secrets more oil helps in reducing that extra oil secretion. Orange oil has this charm to control the oil secretion. So bye bye shiny face.

Special Note:

  • Always remember that the essential oils should not be used directly on skin. You need to dilute the oil by mixing with some carrier oil like coconut oil/ almond oil and then use it on skin.
  • It is not recommended to use orange oil while you are out in sun. Orange oil when comes in contact with direct sun, reacts and it might harm your skin.

Deepika and Ranveer Announced Their Wedding Date and This is Why I Just Can’t Keep Calm…!!! Na, I Have Not Got Any Invite.

Hellooooo,

I’m so so happy today…!!!! Reason is ‘Wedding’. Na, before you start congratulating me and start asking who the luck guy is, let me tell you I am not happy because it’s my wedding. I’m happy because my favorite acctress Deepika Padukone is getting married to the man she loves in less than a month…!!!

Deepika is been my favorite since her debut Kannada movie. I was quite famous in ladies hostel during graduation due to my fondness for my favorite dimple queen. #Fangirl

She fell in love with Bollywood’s heart-throb Ranbir Kapoor. Ahhh I was one of those fans who loved them as a couple. They were quite vocal about their relationship. It was a fairy tale. Till one day when they announced their split. The reason most of you know.

Like any other people who fall in love and goes through a heart break, Deepika too had her bit of bitter phase.

I loved her way more when she came out in public to say about most important and most neglected topic – mental health. Being a celebrity from showbiz industry, she didn’t even think about how people gonna react to this. Because trust me most of the people in my country are good at one thing- judging others without even knowing them.

She publicaly said that she was suffering from depression. She did explain how it felt to be depressed, how she recognized it, took treatment and came out of it with flying colors. This made a lot of people to talk about depression and thus she has saved lot of lives. Her organization Live Love Laugh, works for people who are going through mental illness. Isn’t that great???

Then in 2013 Ram Leela happened. Deepika had announced her excitement to work with well known director SLB. But little did she know that the movie is going to change her life forever, in a good (read it awesome) way…!!!

In the movie, she was cast against the handsome Ranveer Singh. They met on set and rest is history…!!!

Ranveer, is a bundle of high voltage energy. He is happy and excited alllwaysss. I mean if you see him in any award function or interview he is always fun and energetic. So positive.

Deepika on the other hand always calm and composed.

You know they say opposite attracts, I think that’s what it is.

One of the best things I loved about them is, they never hesitated to show the warmth and fondness in front of people. Especially Ranveer, it was so evident that he treats her like a queen. The way he looks at her, OMG I’m not crying, you are. Also, he brings her goofiness out. I love that… 😘

She even said in one of her interviews that she likes Ranveer and trusts him so much. She can keep her soul na*ed in front of him. She didn’t have to hide anything. Isn’t this what we all look for in a partner?? Who is our best friend where we don’t have to hide things, especially with whom we don’t have to pretend to be someone else.

This is what I learnt from Deepika:

She came from non Bollywood background. With no God father in the industry. She wasn’t great with her acting in the beginning but what made her the top earning actress is her dedication and hard work to get better and better day by day. People once who said she is just for glamour now clap their hands post witnessing her performance. Yes, I learnt from her, to work on oneself to be the better version. To build our own identity and to grow as a strong individual.

She loved. She had her heart broken. For a celebrity it’s way more tougher. Because every pretty huge piece of their life is over the internet. Be it ugly break-up, rumored link up. It’s everywhere. Hard to move on. Don’t you think so??? But she tried. She did go through depression. She didn’t hide. She spoke. Spoke in order to help others.

I learnt that you learn from your own life circumstances. If you care for people you love, do share your learnings with them. You might be helping them from doing some blunders. If you are going through something sad, be open about it. Do not keep inside and suffer. But choose wisely whom you are opening your mind to.

What I learnt from her love life is, no matter how bad it can get, be patient. End of something might be an indication that something much better is coming…!!! Sometimes you have to kiss few frogs in order to find the prince. 😉 When the time is right, right person will come to your life for good. Who makes you feel you are the most beautiful woman in the entire world. With whom you can be the way you are. Whom you can call home. 😊

So if you are just out from a relationship from your Ranbir or waiting for one, just wait for some more time. Your Ranveer will come along when the time is right. Till then work on yourself to be a strong independent individual like Deepika. 😉

Plus, no matter what, put on that beautiful smile and face the world like a queen. 😎

Ahhh in all three movies Ranveer and Deepika have performed, ended on a sadder note. I’m so so soooo Happy that the real life is so much happier than on silver screen for them and as well as for their fans. 🤩

I love you Deepika since day one and I love you Ranveer for making us understand how we must be treated by a guy. Thank you for setting those goals.

I wish you a loads of happiness and love to both who found the homes for their souls.

RABF – App That Let’s You Rent A Boy Friend. Wait, What???

Orrr rather hello crazy world….!!!

Ahhh you must be thinking why am I calling the world crazy. Trust me, after reading the next couple of paragraphs below, you are going to utter the same.. or even more…!!!

You must have heard about companies or mobile applications that lets you rent cars, clothes etc. Which I know are for some extent necessary in some situations.
Well, the crazy news I heard recently is about the mobile application that was launched in Mumbai and Pune on 15th of August.If you are thinking about this application is for social cause as this was launched on the independence day, ummm drop that thought. Even though the app developers might think it is for a social cause, I definitely don’t think so.

This application is called as RABF. Which stands for (be ready to read and face a brain freeze…!!!) Rent A Boy Friend…!!! (Like, seriously???)

So, this app is targeted the youth(read it as girls), who are under depression or suffering due to loneliness. Through this app, you can rent a boy friend. You can take him out for lunch and spend ‘quality’ time with him..!!!

Want to know further??? Well for FYI, when you opt for renting a guy (you can read it as a boy friend), there will be some good number of psychologists. Who will test you and they will let you know whether you really need a boy friend or not. By the way, this is definitely not a free session. For consultation you got to spend 500 INR. If the doctors/psychologists say yes, then you can choose boy friend from a list of guys, according to your ‘budget’.

Yes of course there is a budget factor dude. If the guy is not a ‘model’ type (you know what I mean), then per hour you got to pay 500 INR. If you want good looking, models as your ‘rented’ boy friend, then be ready with 2000 INR per hour. If you have ever dreamt of roaming around with a celebrity boy friend, gal you need to pay 4000-5000 INR per hour. (Just to keep you grounded, celebrity doesn’t mean, you get to roam around with Hritik Roshan.)

This is my honest opinion:

They say, men are from Mars and Women are from Venus. Men can never understand women. Well, this seems to be an excellent example.

Why on earth, girl with depression chooses boy over money…!!! Spending money on such app, to get boy, whom you barely know. Who I can bet is not really interested in your crap. Who is ultimately earning money at the end of the day is definitely not around you for your ‘company’. He is not going to be with you like forever.

Forget about the healing, what about your safety??? Our country has been declared as the number one country when it comes to the most unsafe place for a woman. What if the hired boy friend of yours, makes you the ‘news’ on the next day’s newspaper???

I mean with the amount of money you spend ‘hiring’ these men, you can do hell lot of things gal. Feeling depressed??? Get out of your home. Go shopping (my first favorite thing to do with money when sadness try to conquer me. Ahh it’s a therapy. ), donate money to someone who is in need. Trust me, sometimes the smile you bring on their faces can make your heart smile. Help animals. Feed them. The gratefulness in their eyes can make your soul dance with happiness. Take yourself out on a good dinner. Food is magic. A good food can make your day a happier one…!!!(I don’t know who all will agree. But I know my baby sis will definitely agree. We both order good dinner, in order to end our sad days on a happier note. It totally works for both of us. ) Go out and try some adventurous sports, travel, make memories.

You tend to make wrong decisions and try anything and everything to feel better, when you are emotionally high. Depression is something sensitive and I am glad people are opening up about it. I really hope none of my beautiful readers are going through any serious emotional pain. If so, I am always there to listen. 🙂

As per one of my friends, it might be a good option for some girls who are suffering from loneliness. Yes, I might not have come across such gals. But thats ok. All I can say to such girls is to learn self love. That will definitely help them in long run.

Your life, your choice. But just make sure you don’t regret your choices.

I am a slow reader. I love enjoying/understanding each sentence hence the speed is a bit slower. I have bought this amazing book couple of weeks ago. I didn’t get enough time to read it. So I am gonna enjoy my book as a part of

‘Me Time’ this weekend. Plus some time for my new found love.

I found peace and love in physical activities like cycling. I have started going cycling every weekend at least. Last week you must have read my post about importance of exercise. Where I have mentioned why I have fallen in love with gym or go cycling.

What do you do to keep yourself physically fit???

As I have mentioned in many of my posts, I am not good at maintaining clean diet. So, physical activities are something I have to opt for in order to be fit. (Ahh I sound like a fitness freak. Which I am not. Not as of now. Soon I might turn into one fitness enthusiast.) So I try to go to gym at least 4 days out of 5 weekdays. Try to take stairs instead of elevator. On weekends I used to be on bed like a python. But now I have started with cycling. What do you do???

No matter whether you are physically fit or not, in order to survive and enjoy this beautiful gift called life, you got to be mentally fit. Make sure you do at least one single thing in an entire day, which makes you feel alive. For me,

Pets lighten up my soul. They make me super alive. #touchwood

My hobby – blogging. It makes me feel happy.

Talking to loved ones – even though we do fight a lot of time over the phone with our loved ones, they make us feel we are not alone. We have their backs, no matter what. Family is the super strength that is needed to keep your mental health strong. #touchwood

Dressing up – It makes me feel like I ma the most beautiful girl in the world.

Of course shopping – ahhh it’s a therapy.

See, life is not always about happy tears. Strangely very less people talk about sadness with the world. For the obvious reasons of course. But in order to be mentally free, its necessary to keep yourself free from such sadness or thoughts that weigh you down. I am answering this because even a single soul who is reading this post, finds my tricks worth trying, my purpose is served.

When I am sad, I cry, talk to dad or mom(depending on whose words can calm me down faster. haha) sis(to pour all my heart out). I spend time with my son. Ultimately, I order some good food and watch my favorite series F.R.I.E.N.D.S. they never fail to make me laugh. 🙂

The More You Sweat The More You Shine

Are you a fitness freak??? Ahh this is the word used by many (I sometimes feel it a bit of negative due to the word ‘freak’ may be). Let me re-frame, are you fitness conscious or fitness enthusiast??? What does fitness or physical activity means to you???

I personally have tried and experienced this, I’m way more happier and positive on the days I do my exercises. Especially the outdoor activities like running, trekking etc. With great company, it’s like cherry on the top.

Well, while typing this, I’m shining. How???? Remember?? The more you sweat the more you shine. Hehe I know it was a PJ. 😋

So, I’m back from cycling. Well, I did cover 18 km today(I’m sure I won’t be able to feel my legs tomorrow haha). Not bad huun. With an enthusiast buddy, who keeps cheering you up and listens to your PJs (I do crack a lot of PJs (those who are living under the rock, PJ stands for’Poor Joke’)), cycling for long distance makes look easier.

I had read somewhere that being physically active is very beneficial for your mental health. Now that I have experienced this, I just thought of sharing my views about it.

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you already know that I am a software engineer by profession. Uff a boring life I must say. Your life is kind of restricted to a corner and it starts and ends within few tiles. No matter how positive you try to think about it, this is the truth guys.

Anyways, just to add that ‘do what you like’ flavor to my boring weekday, I try to hit gym. I was not regular till the time I realized something. Following a strict diet is not my cup of tea. I just cant eat ONLY healthy. You guys know how much I love junk food through my Fun Friday posts. But, I realized, I am way more active mentally and physically, way more enthusiastic, positive, happy when I hit gym or go trekking(which makes the most happiest and peaceful gal in the world. I love nature. ). A month ago I had almost stopped going to gym and no trekking(summer is not meant for trekking). I could actually realize my thinking pattern and my way of doing creative stuffs. Now that I have realized this, I will never ever going to miss the gym.

Along with such positive effect on you, there are multiple other benefits which you get via physical exercises. Lets see what are they..

  • Maintains Healthy Body Weight.
  • It adds the fun quotient. Lifts your mood by bursting the stress.
  • This is as basic as it sounds. Most of the people hit gym or do the physical activities to get fit by shedding extra fat. Because we all are aware what are the health issues you might get due to obesity.

  • Reduce the risk of Cardiovascular Disease, cancer, diabetes type 2 etc.
  • Strengthen bones and muscles.
  • Improves sleep pattern.
  • Increases lifespan.

How to be active???

When I say being physically active, doesn’t only mean getting an expensive gym membership. It can start right from where you are sitting.

  • You can start your day with few stretchering exercises in the bed itself. This will definitely a great way to kick start the day.
  • If your hectic morning schedule do not allow you to spare time for exercise, just accommodate exercise with some other work. Like for e.g. While brushing your teeth, you can do squats and lunges.
  • Have a kid(be it human or furry)??? take your kid out for a walk. You don’t even realize your exercise, while you enjoy the ‘family time’.
  • Involve in games which need physical strength. By the end of it you are sure you are gonna sweat like a pig. haha.
  • If your work makes you sit for long, don’t. Make sure you take regular breaks. Take brief Walks.
  • While sitting on chair, you can do some little exercises like leg lifts and side bends. (I do them)

  • You might have heard or read this for zillion times. Let me repeat it one more time – use stairs instead of lifts/elevator wherever possible.
  • If your work place is near by or going out for a quick shopping, walk instead of using vehicle. If you have a bicycle, you know what to do.

So, these are my tried and tested tips for being physically active.

One of my intentions of this year being the healthier and fitter version myself, I have started with some of good healthy habits. One among them is drinking green tea…!!! Yes. weight loss or fitness discussion is incomplete without mentioning this magical drink called green tea. I have seen and heard people consuming this tea without knowing what actually it does to our body. How it actually works… Everybody knows that green tea is healthiest drink for body. But, what not everybody knows that drinking green tea has disadvantages also…!!!

I have gathered some information from people who have been consuming this ‘healthy’ drink since good long time and from other resources. Let me share you the information I got about Green tea.

Green tea’s origin:

Green tea is mostly popular in eastern countries like Japan, Thailand, India etc.

From where green tea is extracted:

Different types of tea powder are prepared from Camellia sinensis plant. The dried leaves and leaf buds are powdered to prepare tea powder. Different types of tea powder preparation involves different processioning methods. Well, our topic of the day – green tea, is prepared by steaming and pan-frying these leaves and then drying them.

What it contains???

Green tea contains two to four percent of caffeine. Also contains antioxidants.

How to prepare green tea???

There are many brands out there who offer a lot many flavored and unflavored green tea powders and tea bags. Just the way you prepare regular tea, instead of regular tea powder you will have to add green tea powder to milk. But if you are aiming for weight loss, do skip milk and sugar. Just hot water and green tea powder should be enough. If you didn’t like the taste, you can add natural sweetener like honey. Skip sugar my dear honey.

How  does it tastes???

I have started using Lipton green tea – Tulsi flavor. You just have to dip green tea bag in a cup of hot water for few minutes and close your eyes and drink. Closing your eyes is optional. haha. But, honestly it doesn’t tastes good but health comes before taste you know…!!!

How to consume green tea rightly???

This is something really important in order to get most out of this healthy drink.

  • Maximum quantity of green tea per day is 1200 ml, i.e. not more than 5 cups.
  • Green tea should not be consumed on empty stomach as it might cause liver toxicity.
  • If you have any medical history or pregnant, consultation about preferred quantity is must.
  • Never sip it in night unless you work as a watchman who is expected to be awake the whole night. You know what I mean.
  • Do not consume right after your meal. At least two hours of difference should be there between meal and green tea consumption. Because green tea doesn’t let your body consume the iron and other beneficial contents from the meal.
  • Consume loads of water on consuming green tea. You will find out why in the disadvantage section below.

Advantages of Drinking green tea:

These are the advantages you will get if you consume green tea rightly.

  • Improves mental alertness.
  • It increases urine output. Thus helps in getting rid of toxins from the body. Detoxification is so important in order to keep body healthy. You can check this post about how to detox body in different ways.

Disadvantages of  Drinking Green tea:

Green tea is not as easy as you think it is. It should be consumed rightly in right quantity. Else it will more bad than good to you. If you consume the tea in access quantity all of a sudden, you are inviting more trouble. Here are lesser known facts about it.

  • As I said green tea do contains caffeine. This is not a good content for those individual who have anxiety problems or for those ladies who are pregnant. Hence quantity to consumed should be decided after a consultation from a doctor.

  • Green tea may prohibit calcium from being absorbed into the bones thus resulting in osteoporosis.
  • Green tea can decrease the ability of your body to absorb iron content. Thus iron deficiency…!!
  • Might cause insomnia.
  • Caffeine can be more hazardous. It might end up irregular heart beats.
  • Green tea causes oxidative stress. Which might result in vomiting.
  • Excessive caffeine consumption has also been linked to muscle spasms and twitching.

Heartburn-pregnancy

  • Caffeine has also been linked to restless leg syndrome.
  • Green tea is acidic. It might you suffer from heartburn.
  • A study was conducted where green tea extract was found to significantly accelerate the onset of convulsions.
  • Caffeine in green tea can increase the risk of bleeding. Hence those who have bleeding disorders, stay away from green tea.
  • Green tea quite confusing I must say. There are studies which contradict each other, One study says green tea decreases diabetes and headaches. Whereas the other study says it increases them.
  • If green tea is consumed in higher quantity, it will damage liver.
  • The commonest skin allergies associated with green tea consumption are eczema and hives.
  • Green tea higher consumption results in kidney disorder.
  • Thyroid problems might also be caused.
  • One study states that consuming green tea too often can lower fertility.
  • Green tea does improve oral health but it also stains your teeth. Ooops…!!!

So, these are the points I wanted to share with you my dear reader.

I know disadvantage list is longer than the advantage list. But, green tea is not harmful at all if it is consumed in moderation. Right quantity, right way will achieve the best.

Don’t Compare Your Chapter 1 to Someone Else’s Last

Hey my beautiful reader,

How’s was your Saturday??? What are your plans for Sunday???

Some of you might be partying, some of you might be out in the rain with friends, some might be enjoying staying at home (like me), some might not be so happy staying at home… There are definitely some, who constantly check their social media updates and gets sad/worried… Ummm let me explain you more…

Private life’ is called so because it meant to be private.  Nowadays people have actually forgotten that we can actually eat at a restaurant without ‘checking in’  on social media. Watching movie at theater needs tickets and of course a bucket full of popcorn, not a Facebook update.

You know what is worst on social media, ‘honeymoon photos’. **like seriously ** and how can I not mention those hash tags #besthubbyintheworld (sorry, was there any competition??),  #myfavoritehubby (ahem…  How many do you have???)  #blessedToBeYourWife/hubby (is your God added in your Facebook account??? You can thank him off the social media too. )  *drama everywhere *

Unfortunately, many people believe what they see on social media. They tend to compare their lives with theirs. They think those with frequent check-ins are having ‘happening life’. Some do think that the one with above hash tags are actually the best couple.

No…!!!  What you see is only the best poses, best clicks. No body puts up sad stories, #quarrelDiaries..  Na..  No one…  No one posts how much did they spend at those fancy restaurants. They don’t say that they are bankrupt on any of the medias.

I have been there, done that. But, trust me I came across certain scenarios where I have heard the ‘behind the stories’  of those ‘blessed to have you’  couples. That was the time I got to know how fake people are on social medias.

If you are one among those, who is comparing your life with others, I have a msg for you. This is my favorite one.

New York is 3 hours ahead of California but it does not mean that California is slow, or that New York is fast. Both are  working based on their own “Time Zone.”

Some one is still single. Someone got married and ‘waited’ 10 years before having a child. There is another who had a baby within a year of marriage.

Someone graduated at the age of 22, yet waited 5 years before securing a good job; and there is another who graduated at 27 and secured employment immediately !

Someone became CEO at 25 and died at 50 while another became a CEO at 50 and lived to 90 years. 

Everyone works based on their ‘Time Zone’,

People can have things worked out only according to their pace.

Work in your “time zone”.

Your Colleagues, friends, younger ones might “seem” to go ahead of you.

May be some might “seem” behind you.

Everyone is in this world running their own race on their own lane in their own time. God has a different plan for everybody.Time is the difference. Obama retires at 55, Trump resumes at 70

Don’t envy them or mock them, it’s their ‘Time Zone.’ 

You are in yours!

Hold on, be strong, and stay true to yourself. All things shall work together for your good. 

You’re not late … You are not early … you’re very much On time!😊👍stay blessed.

You Are In Your Time Zone….!!! 

Tomorrow is not promised. You never know where everyone is heading to. You might be comparing your first chapter with last chapter of others.
Everyone is blessed with different lives. No point in comparing or being replica of someone. Instead be original. Enjoy what you have. I am sure there are plenty who are willing to live your life.

With this I remember one more story.

Once God announced that people can exchange their sorrows with someone else’s sorrows. So he asked them to keep their sorrows on a table. When people looked at the sorrows for an exchange, everyone ended up picking their own sorrows.!!! 

You never know what sorrows they are hiding behind those 500+ liked photos.

Unfortunately, most of the sorrows are self made. If you want to go and have food like them???  Go… You don’t need someone to hold your hand and make you eat. Be your own best friend. Treat yourself with great food.

As per as different ‘life events’  are concerned, when the time is right, everything will be right.

Enjoy your life. Accept the challenges because they are making you stronger. Be thankful for the tough times because they are letting you know who really cares.

Stay happy…  We have only one life to live… Live it like a Queen…  Or like the one ‘who doesn’t care, who the Queen is’…  💋
