Essentials to Carry in Your Gym Bag

As much as I ask my readers to love themselves the way they are, I also always suggest to try and discover their best version. When I say best version, it’s definitely both mentally and physically.!
To look and feel good, if you are one of those who are regular at gym, this post is going to help you.
Since I also love sweating out in gym, I have some tips to share, with respect to the gym bag I carry. Let me tell you the essentials inside the bag which will help you organise your gym bag for your next gym session.
  • Gym clothes:

I used to wear normal track pants to the gym. One of my dear friends suggested me to replace them with gym wear and see the difference.  I did and to my surprise, it not only makes me look good while giving me the comfort, but also has made me more regular to the gym. I don’t know the exact psychological reason behind this but gym clothes bring more discipline. They are like uniforms to the gym haha.
  • Deodorant/ Perfume:

I like to use a good perfume before hitting the gym as well as post the gym session, once I am all freshen up. Nobody wants to kill their gym buddies with bad body odour. So using a good perfume will help.
  • Water bottle:

Some like to take short breaks in between the exercises, have some water to keep themselves hydrated. Whereas some like to drink protein shake post working out, a bottle surves these purposes.

  • Face wash:

Washing your face before the gym session is suggested. Especially if you have makeup on, you need to let your facial pores breath by removing makeup. This lets skin sweat without clogging pores.
Not everyone is comfortable or have a facility to take shower post workout. In that case, please make sure you at least wash your face. The sweat and accumulated dirt (if you have habit of touching your face frequently, you are transferring all germs from gym equipment to your face. ) can cause breakouts.
  • Hand towel:

I have seen people who leave the gym equipment all covered in their sweat. Ewww. We need to keep our sweat from dripping/ to keep the equipment clean enough to be used by someone after us, we got to carry a small towel to the gym.

  • Pair of shoes:

A good pair of shoes is a must for the gym. Especially if you are using the cardio machines. They give you good grip and enough motivation to look good and workout well in the gym..!
  • Hair accessory:

Ahh if you have long hair you know the pain. We need to keep extra rubber bands/ clips to keep the hair away from sweaty face.

  • Bath Essentials:

If you are going to take bath immediately after working out, always carry your own shampoo/ soap. I have seen people borrowing their friends shampoos and soaps. Shampoos, I can be still ok with, but soaps??? Nooo..!!!! #Unhygienic
  • Makeup bag:

Ahmmm when I say makeup bag I am not asking you to carry those makeup palette of yours..! Just the essentials. A good day cream, kajal may be. In case you are going out somewhere or going to gym in between office hours (if you are thinking who does that..!! Spoiler alert..!!! Me..! ) a small bag with essentials would help. Umm did I forget to mention lipstick???! Carry one please.
  • Earphones:

What’s more better than listening to some catchy music to get that extra boost to workout..!!! Carry your earphones, turn on the playlist and workout honey… 😉
I could think of these things as of now, while I am writing this I mean typing this down.

Double Cleansing for Healthy Skin

Keeping skin clean is the key factor for a clear and health skin. To keep the skin in good
condition the step ‘C’ in the CTM technique plays an important role.

Cleansing, as you guys know, is the way to clean your skin. Making sure it is free from all the makeup/ impurities.

If you are a beauty junkie, you must already know this skin care technique called – Double cleansing. If your answer is no, I will tell you what it is all about.

As the name suggests, the cleansing of skin is done twice. But with different kind of products in each step.

How is This Done?

First step involves removing the layer of makeup or dirt with the help of non-foaming or micellar water.

Second step involves washing your face with foaming cleanser. It can be as simple as a regular face wash you use. This step makes sure the residue left after the first step is washed away and leaves the pores super clean.

My Recommendations:
For non-foaming, I can recommend some cleanser which are oil based or cream based. I have tried this cleansing lotion from the brand The Face Shop. But I generally like using this micellar water. This is light weight and very easy to use. Removes makeup quite easily thus making the first step of double cleansing easy.

Who Should Double Cleanse Their Skin???

Ideally, everyone of us. Especially if you wear makeup or if you living in huge cities where pollution level is quite high.

Makeup we wear can clog pores, if left overnight. Which in turn cause breakouts. Needless to say, the pollution harms our skin way more than we know. It also increases the aging process. Thus making it necessary to cleanse skin as much as possible at the end of the day.

What is The Use Of Double Cleansing???

As I mentioned earlier, keeping facial pores as clean as possible helps in maintaining good skin. Also, if we do double cleansing before the T and M steps of skin care routine, makes sure that the product we are using for moisturization gets absorbed by skin easily. Thus making the most of the product.

This is what I had for double cleansing technique. I know at the end of the day, when you are dead tired, it is super hard to cleanse your face once. I am asking twice the struggle you guys face. But keeping skin clean and healthy will get you compliments for sure. 🙂

Basic and Simple Grooming Tips for Men

Some of my male friends have been complaining that I always write ‘out of syllabus’ topics on my blog. Asked me to write some posts that would help them too. Well, boys, here is a post explicitly for you.

What comes to your mind when I say -Grooming? Not just the outfit you wear or the hair style you opt for. It includes many more little things.

Just like the way you guys notice ‘certain things’ in a girl, we do notice certain things in you too. I hear some of you yelling that ‘girls won’t get impressed by you’. Read on to know the basic steps to impress a girl. haha.

Outfit –

I have seen guys following some outfit trends blindly. For example the low waste jeans, the most annoying (most funny yet times) style I have ever come across. You might think you look cool. But, it’s a thumbs down from us.

Women usually like men with nice dressing sense. Do not wear something unwashed, crumpled, very tight(provided if you have those killer abs for which you have been working hard), colors that won’t suit you(as far as possible, please do not wear neon colors. Especially if you are going to meet a girl for the first few times. You don’t want to hurt her eyes. Do you??? ) etc.

PS: Brownie points for men in formals. #hot

Footwear –

Na, I am not telling you to categorise your footwear like we do. For office wear, for parties, night out, blah blah. Na. But guys, kindly think about ‘basics’. Like, do not wear bathroom slippers to office or a party. (Yes, I have seen men doing that mistake. )

Casual footwear like sneakers would look cool with t-shirts. A well polished formal shoes with a formal attire – ahhh hello handsome. (Trust me, you don’t need top have that killer body to flaunt this look.

Let me share a secret, just to simpler this point. Try to match your belt with footwear. This will make you look more appealing with minimal efforts.

Hair:

I don’t restrict you with some particular hair style. Do experiment with hair but please stick to the hair styles that suits you. Do not over experiment.

In order to avoid bald patches and dandruff, you have to take a good care of your hair. Keep your hair and scalp clean with regular wash. Once in a while, applying oil to your hair will make them healthy too.

Nose Hair and Ear Hair –

Kindly ask your barber to trim those nose and ear hair. Trimmed hair gives you a well groomed appearance. Over grown nose hair and ear hair is just tacky.

Beard –

Ahh you guys know that we love men with beard. But what you might not know is we don’t really like hippy. Yes, growing beard is not exactly the goal. Grooming it well should be. There are multiple oils and creams available to take care of beard. Regular trimming and combing should be enough for keeping them in good condition.

Also, let me be frank with you. Beard doesn’t suits everyone. On some it looks so amazing and they look so manly. For some it looks like a kid who is trying hard to look like a man. If you think you fall in the category of ‘cute’, don’t worry there are many girls who love clean shaved chocolate boys.

Face –

Washing face with a good face wash at least twice daily must be in your routine. Else you are inviting blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and what not…!!! You don’t want to look ugly right??? Buy a good face wash for your ‘rough and tough’ skin and start taking care of it.

PS: Using a face wash never makes you less manly.

Smell good –

This is very very basic. Those sweat stains and that awful smell is just a big turn down.

Take bath daily. Invest on some good deodorant or a perfume that lasts long. Because I know you guys are not as dedicated as we are for touch ups. Once applied – done. Phew. Hence opt for a good, long lasting fragrance.

And yes, please make sure you have some lady by your side while shopping a perfume. Because men with strong perfume on them are yet times root cause of head aches.

Tanning –

Ok, so you guys have this ‘misconception’ that, applying packs and taking care of yourself is considered ‘girly’. Well hello, letting your skin tanned like a buffalo and letting it dry like desert is not considered manly either. Sorry I might sound rude. But this is like a big  no for me, at least. I am not asking you to dip yourself in a pool of body lotions, to get silky sift skin. haha. But too much negligence about self grooming is also not acceptable.

Apply sunscreen on arms and hands before leaving house. If you think I am asking too much, at least cover yourself before going out in sun. Do not roam around in the sun without protecting yourself, only because you are a rough and tough man. Remember, sun is tougher than you. Effects of his rays are similar on both men’s as well as women’s skin.

 

Dark lips –

You must have heard the term – kissable lips. Well, what you might not heard is it applies to you too. Those dark, chapped dry lips. Arrgghh looks like a land suffered from  drought. Kindly apply a colorless lip balm before going to bed at least twice in a week. (Ideally it should be daily. Well, considering your ‘consciousness’, I am reducing it to twice a week.) Also make sure the lip balm is colorless because, you don’t want to show off pink or red lips. That definitely will make you look ‘girly’.

Before trying out masks, we need to clear the skin surface by exfoliating. Get rid of those dead cells by applying gentle exfoliate.

I said warm… not hot… wink Warm water will open the pores and you raise the skin’s temperature slightly. This causes blood vessels and pores to dilate in an effort to cool you down. Dermatologist suggest this because, space between the cells means there’s a greater surface area for absorption. This helps skin to absorb the product quickly.

💖 Use facial brush:

This is optional. I prefer applying using finger tips.

But you can use facial brush for an even application and avoiding your nails becoming messy.

💖 Apply mask on Damp skin:

Damp skin acts like a sponge and it does quickly absorbs whatever comes its way. Hence, applying mask on damp skin results in a radiant skin.

💖 Leave it on your skin for good 10 minutes:

When I say good, it has to be reaaaallllly good. Do relax for this 10 minutes to calm down your skin.

💖 Wash the mask using cold water:

Cold water seal the pores. Thus locking the goodness in the skin.
