All You Need to Know About Facial Gua Sha Tool

What is a Gua Sha tool?
It’s a traditional Chinese medicine tool used to scrape body skin. Facial gua sha is a modified version of it.

How does it works?
It is targeting a stagnant energy in the body, that is the cause for inflammation. Rubbing the tool against the skin helps in breaking this energy, reduce inflammation and thus promotes healing. It also helps in blood circulation.
It was also believed that it helps in getting rid of body heat and negative energy.

What are they made of?
Authentic Gua sha are made of natural materials like, gem stones, animal bone, animal horn etc. Mostly used Gua sha are made of jade or rose quartz or mineral rich stone and shaped in order to fit the contours of face.

However, unlike Jade roller, Gua sha is not about the contact of the stone with skin. It’s about right scraping techniques.

What do you need to use this technique?
Firstly, a gua sha tool. Your favourite skin care product. Be it mist, serum or cream.
Apply the product before using the tool.

How to use it?
With gentle strokes, massage your face with the tool, while applying light to medium pressure. Use the flat surface more than the edge.

Order of massage would be:
1. Neck
2. Jaw line
3. Under eye are
4. Nose bridge
5. Brow bone
6. Forehead

Can we use it daily?
Professionals recommend three times a week for around 15 minutes.

Benefits:
1. Upward strokes helps in lifting and firming the skin.
2. Increased blood flow.
3. Removes stagnant lymph from tissue. This helps in reducing puffiness.
4. With regular use, reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
5. Reduces tension in face, neck and shoulder.
6. Helps in better absorption of the products.

Special Tips:
1. Always apply a cream or oil before using Gua sha. Using the tool on dry surface causes more friction and thus cause more damage to skin.
2. If you have inflammation or pimples or open wound, do not use the tool on them. Use it round them.
3. If you have sunburn, do not use the tool.
4. If you use retinol or any chemical exfoliation, you should be extra cautious while using the tool.
5. Make sure you apply little pressure. If you apply more pressure than needed, this can result in skin breakage.
6. Be careful with the edges. If the tool has any damage and has sharp edge, please get rid of the tool immediately.

MCaffeine Naked & Raw Coffee Body Scrub : Review and Swatch

Scrubbing is a step in skin care, where with a scrub we remove the dead skin cells. This in turn helps in unclogging the pores and helps in improvising health of skin. Just like scrubbing the facial skin, we need to use scrub to remove dead cells from our body as well.

Mygirlypedia.com

Note: Facial skin is thinner as compared to skin covering our body. So the scrub which is meant for scrubbing body should not be used on face. The granules in the body scrub can be harsh for the face. Like wise, facial scrub may or may not be beneficial when used on body.

I have always loved the ones from beauty co. Made detailed review video as well. You can watch the video here.

Just to try something new in body scrub, I bought and tried this coffee scrub from the brand . Let’s see the details.

The product comes in a glass jar. It is quite sturdy and heavy. I like glass packing. They look classy. Let me tell you I have tested the sturdiness of the jar by dropping it (accidentally, of course).

I have mentioned this in my earlier review posts, I like the packing with the details on the container, not just the outer packing. Because we hardly keep the outer packing. It comes handy to keep track of the details (especially expiry date) if it is printed on the container containing the product.

Fragrance:
Are you a coffee person??? or at least loveeee coffee fragrance??? This is definitely going to steal your heart. This has a very nice fragrance of coffee (filter coffee to be precise.)

Texture:
It is dry powder.

How to use??

My Experience:

Before starting with it, let me tell you I have almost finished this first bottle of mine…!! So I can confidently say have fully tested this product.

To begin with, always use scrub on wet skin. Else the friction when rubbed might cause more harm than good to your skin..!!!

So on wet skin I applied the scrub. Scrub is dry in texture so you might find the need to add a little bit of water to it to make a paste like consistency. I did.

The granules are of right size to scrub the body. They are quite gentle. That’s the thing I liked the most. Plus, it smells heavenly. Coffee lovers are going to love this product for sure.

Post scrubbing, skin usually feels dry. But this didn’t make my dry skin scream for moisture. I can’t say it totally added moisture to my skin, but it didn’t make it worst either.

In short, it left my skin soft and didn’t dry it.

Pros:

  • Smells heavenly.
  • Granules are perfect to scrub away the dead skin cells from body.
  • Sturdy packing.
  • Little goes long way. So a single bottle lasts for good amount of time.
  • Cruelty free product.

Cons:

  • None for me.

Will I Repurchase??
I have a stock of body scrubs from this brand. Once it’s over I will repurchase this one for sure.

Will I Recommend??
Yes. It worked for my dry skin and it smells so yummy.

Coconut Water Rubber Mask from Sephora India | Review and Swatch

I have been obsessed with shopping at Sephora lately. I have been in love with their sheet masks for quite a sometime. Will review some soon. Also I have had heard about their rubber mask. Since I am quite new or rather I had never used one, thought of giving it a try.

They have 4 different variants available:

  • Kiwi
  • Goji
  • Charcoal
  • Coconut Water

As my skin is quite dry, I opted for the variant – coconut water. Which claims to add deep moisture. Let’s see how this works.

Price: 580 INR

Packing:

This comes in a recyclable plastic box. The box resembles a small bucket. Different variants have different coloured boxes. All the details about the product including the required quantity of water to be mixed is also been mentioned on the box.

If it is a fresh piece, it is good to be carried around while you travel. But if you open the pack, the lid is not tight enough to carry it around without worrying about spillage.

Oh yes, it also comes with a spatula to mix water and the powder.

Colour:

The mask is light cream colour.

Fragrance:

It has a very very mild fruity smell. It’s a fresh aroma.

Consistency:

The store assistant told me that after mixing water and stirring it will turn into rubber like consistency and then we need to apply on face. But that was a miscommunication/ confusion. Because once you mix water, this turns out to be a paste like consistency. After letting it work for 5 minutes (as mentioned on the packing), it will turn into rubber like consistency. That is when we will be peeling off the mask.

My Experience:

Since this was my first ever encounter with rubber mask, I didn’t know exactly how it works and what quantity I will be needing. So, I blindly followed the instructions by adding the same quantity of water mentioned on the package. Stirred the mask with the spatula that comes with it.

But then I realised how actually the mask works. I.e. from paste to rubber consistency. Also I realised that I could have used the mask multiple times as the quantity was quite more for one time use.!

Even though the water added to the mask was exactly as instructed on the package, the mask was quite thin and dripping all over the place.

Good thing is that, as claimed by the company it works within 5 minutes. After 5 minutes of application, the mask had turned quite thick like a rubber.

Usually peeling masks hurt while peeling them off. But this mask was not. It was quite easy to peel it off.

About hydration – Usually peel off masks dry my skin. Post peeling them off I need a moisturizer. But post using this mask, my skin didn’t feel any dry. So I can easily say that skin was hydrated. But I can not say that the mask has deeply hydrated my skin, like a magic. It has done a very decent job.

Pros:

  • Peeling off the mask was easy.
  • It did not dry my skin like any other peel off mask would do.
  • It added hydration to my skin.
  • Packing is quite reusable.Quantity is more for single use. You can use it multiple times if you take adequate quantity out and mix water to make the mask.
  • Does not contain harmful chemicals.
  • Plastic used for packing is recyclable. So they are doing a bit for the environment.

Cons:

  • Quantity of water mentioned on the pack is misleading. If you go with the quantity mentioned on the package, you are going to end up wasting the product like I did.
  • It didn’t add any extra or deep hydration to my skin. It has done a very decent job.
  • Falls on pricier side for a mask + the job it is doing.
  • Package once opened, can’t be carried around without worrying about spillage. As the lid is not tight enough.

Is this on my repurchase list?

No. It is a descent product. But I had more expectations for the money I paid.

Will I recommend?

It is good enough for normal skin, provided they use it multiple times by the way I have suggested above. But if you have dry skin and searching for deep hydration, go for sheet masks instead of this one.

Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Brightening Ayurvedic Face Scrub Reviewed

Hello world,

Like zillion times, I have mentioned in most of my posts that scrubbing is very very important in order to maintain a very healthy skin. As you know, scrubbing is a technique to remove the dead skin cells. As ‘The winter is coming’, it’s better you stoke up your shelf with a good scrub.

I heard many celebrities talking about this Indian skin and hair cars brand called Kama Ayurveda. The brand swears that it is totally Ayurvedic with no chemicals. This is a high end brand with products falling on slightly pricier side.

I was very keen to try my hands on these products since quite long. So thought of giving a try for this beautiful scrub from the brand, to start with(of course I’m gonna try more 😉).

Before I start reviewing this product let me tell you guys, this product is not sponsored by the brand. So let’s just start to get to know how this scrub worked for me.

How did it worked on me:

As mentioned on the cover I did wet my face with water and applied a thin layer of Scrub on my face. Gently rubbed my face to let the scrub work. I usually leave the scrub on my face for a while post massaging. Before it gets dried off completely, I wash my face with warm water.

I must say, in the first use itself apart from doing its primary job of making skin soft, it also gives a good glow to the skin. So if you want to get that glow to the skin instantly, I think you should use this scrub for sure.

Post using the scrub my skin was left softer and cleaner. Usually most of the other scrubs make my skin dry and its screams for hydration. But post using this one, I didn’t have to run for moisturization immediately.

Pros of Kama ayurveda kumkumadi brightening ayurvedic face scrub:

Cons of Kama ayurveda kumkumadi brightening ayurvedic face scrub

  • Some might find it pricey. But little quantity goes a long way and with the positive experience I had, I think it’s worth the hype and price.

So, if you would like to invest in a good product to pamper yourself then do try this scrub. With the results it gives, I am sure you will be happy with your purchase.

My Take On Himalaya Face Pack

Hi,

Which is your favorite face pack??? No, I am not talking about home made one. If I have to ask you, which is your face pack from the ones you get in market… which one would it be??? Mine is this one.

Recently, I wanted to buy a new face pack as I was bored with the ones I have. But not in a mood to spend much on one.

I have heard a lot about the brand Himalaya, which is known for its good products with safe ingredients. Plus prices are comparatively low for the quality of their products. I have used their body lotion before. It had turned out to be a good one. So, after looking at different shelves in the shop for face packs, going through different types of face packs of same range which are meant to serve different skin purposes, picked up this one. Lets see whether this pocket friendly product turned out to be skin friendly or not.

Brand:

Himalaya

Name:

Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Pack

Price:

135 INR for 100 gm (Affordable I say)

You can try out smaller version for testing purpose too. 50gm will cost you 75 INR.

Shelf Life:

What Company Claims???

Himalaya Herbals Fairness Face Pack lightens and evens skin tone, reduces dark spots and blemishes, reduces visibility of dark circle, nourishes skin and moisturises the skin. It is enriched with natural ingredients like walnut which act as natural exfoliator helping remove dead cells, impurities and black heads. Himalaya Herbals Fairness Face Pack help to clean the skin surface making skin look soft, healthy and supple.

Removes dirt.

Exfoliates the skin without being harsh on the skin.

Made with natural ingredients.

Ingredients:

Seems to be safe…

Curcuma longa (Turmeric, Haridra) Juglans regia(Walnut, Akschota) Crocus sativus (Saffron, Kumkuma)

Packing:

A very first reason to opt for Himalya face pack is, apart from being good ingredients it is also a hygienic packing. The tube packing helps in maintaining hygiene because we don’t have top dip fingers in it to take out the product. Like we do in case of tub packing.

This off white and green combo plastic tube has flip cap. Which is tight and thus it can be carried while we travel. Also, you can squeeze out required quantity of face pack without having to worry of any spillage or wastage.

Fragrance:

Strangely it smells like lacto calamine lotion.

Texture:

It is creamy.

How to Use:

Apply it evenly on face leaving mouth and eyes(obviously. And yes nostrils. Because of the obvious reason haha) Leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Remove with wet sponge/towel. Rinse with cool water.

I am suggesting to use towel because this face pack is thick in texture. Its not easy to wash with water in one go.

My take:

Something that made me pick this face pack is it’s ingredients. Turmeric has antibacterial and healing properties, walnut is good for scrubbing. Kesar/Saffron is the queen of home remedies when it comes to skin.

I applied this on my face. It feels like a thick layer of cream on your face. It doesn’t give you any cooling or burning effect. Just let it stay on face for 15-20 minutes. It doesn’t really dry fast as it’s thick in texture. But let me tell you one thing, a common mistake we all do when we apply face packs. Not all the face packs need to be left till they dry. The idea here is to get most of benefits from face pack not to dry the face pack on our faces. Some face packs, as and when they dry they absorb all the natural oil from your face too…!!!

So post the specified time, tried washing it with water. But washing cream away is not an easy task. Patches of cream are still be there on face. So using a cotton pad or towel would be more handy. Plus using cotton pad or a cotton towel has the benefit of scrubbing also. Thus bye bye dead cells.

Once I had cleaned my face completely, I liked the glow it gave to my skin. Even though it didn’t really last that long, but that instant glow is worth trying this face pack for. Plus it didn’t dry my skin like some other packs and left skin super cleaned. #HappyMe

As per as skin lightening is concerned, I didn’t see much of that. It does add that glow and instant brightening. But no long lasting skin lightening benefits as such.

Good things about Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Pack :

  • Affordable
  • Gives nice glow
  • Cleans skin very well
  • Does not dry skin
  • Safe ingredients
  • Travel friendly packing
  • Availability – available both at local drug stores as well as online.

Not so good things about Himalaya Herbals Fairness Kesar Face Pack :

  • Glow doesn’t really lasts longer
  • Can’t clean only with water. Need cotton pads to clean it completely from face.

Will I repurchase???

Yes(but once I finish all my stock of other face packs). I liked the way it adds glow and brightens skin tone in one use.

Will I recommend???

Yes. Its within budget, brightens skin tone, adds glow. I guess it’s a good deal for the price we are paying. Ideal to use before any special events to attend.

L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask for Oily Skin

Hey,

L’Oreal has introduced two face masks lately. The pure clay masks…!!! I was very fascinated by the masks, the very moment I saw them on social media. I had to try them out.

wp-1503569198493.

The two clay masks address two different skin needs. So the masks which are available in Indian market are-

  1. L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask – Purify and Mattify

  2. L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask – Exfoliate and Refine Pores

If you have oily skin, go for first one. That will absorb oil and give matte look to your skin.

If you have dry skin, opt for second. That will help in exfoliation and purification if pores from within.

The combination skinned beauties can opt for multitasking. That is applying first one over oily T zone and applying second one over dried area.

I have normal to oily skin. So I picked up the first mask, ‘L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask – Purify and Mattify’

wp-1503569198430.

Let’s see how much it did fair to my skin.

Brand : L’Oreal Paris

Range : Pure Clay Mask

Type : Purify and Mattify

Price : 850 INR

Ingredients :

Packing :

The outer cartoon has all the details of the product you need to know.

The mask comes in a sturdy glass tub. The glass is really of good quality. I have done it’s testing. ( You know how #wink)

The glass is a bit heavy compared to its size. So it’s not that easy breezy type bottle to carry. But you don’t have to worry about spilling, as it has good quality cap and one more plastic coverage inside.

Color :

This mask is light pistachio green colored one.

Texture :

It’s creamy. But it’s neither greasy nor oily.

Fragrance :

It has strong smell of flavored clay. It might be due to the added perfume in it.

My experience with L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Mask – Purify and Mattify:

wp-1503569198357.

As written on the outer cover, I applied the mask on my face post cleansing. The fragrance was a bit empowering initially, but it was bearable. The mask had kind of cooling effect and I didn’t feel heavy when it was on.

It starts to dry after ten to fifteen minutes. After washing it off with water, I could see some visible difference. It actually left my skin clean and the oiliness was gone. It didn’t improve my skin tone or lighten the spots. Anyway that wasn’t claimed by L’Oreal too…!!

But the glow was not long lasting. The glow lasts for 3 to 4 hours for me. #sob Again, it totally depends on individual skin types. I use it two to three times in a week. It has improved my skin in terms of controlling oiliness.

Let me sum up my likes and dislikes about this purchase of mine.

Likes:

  1. Sturdy packing.

  2. Did what it claimed. Helped in controlling oiliness.

  3. Easily available over net. I purchased it from Nykaa.

  4. Little quantity is enough. So this will last quite long.

  5. Did not break me out. Did not cause any side effects like pimples or something.

wp-1503568264138.

Dislikes:

  1. Contains paraben.

  2. Glow it gives, doesn’t lasts long.

  3. Fragrance might irritate sensitive nosed gals.

Will I repurchase??

Yes.

Will I recommend??

Yes I would recommend this to oily skinned beauties. It did work on my skin. I hope it does on yours too.

Beauty Secrets Of Arabian Women

Hey,

Almost every country has its own history of medicines and beauty treatments. Today, I am gonna share some of the secrets from the land of Arabs. The best kept beauty rituals for skin, hair.

Ready to know the secrets???

  • Arab women cover their head and face with veil as a part of tradition or their culture when step out of the house. This protects them from dust and direct rays of sun. #HealthySkinHair

maxresdefault

  • They follow a beauty ritual called Hammams. This is traditional sauna bath. Here, they massage the body with essential oils. Then give steam, followed by warm water bath. This helps in detoxification and adding glow to skin.
  • Argan oil is their best friend. The oil helps in fighting signs of aging, helps in nourishing hair.
  • Eating right is the key. Arab women do not eat preserved or junk food like we do. They only prefer fresh fruits or home made healthy food.
  • The most lovely thing I find about them is the kohl they apply. They do not prefer the ones available in market. Instead, they prepare their own kohl at home. Do you know how to prepare kohl??? If not, let me know. I will write about it. #wink

cd9945ac2a9c3da5ad2b8b0caaa7e994--arab-makeup-eye-makeup

  • Halawa is the name of the homemade wax they use. This not only helps in removing hair and tan, it also nourishes the skin.
  • Arab women are very particular when it comes to cosmetics they use. They never compromise with the quality of the organic products they use.

  • Spa treatments are something which they never miss..!! Yes, they are very regular with their spa sessions. After all, that glow of their skin is not that easy to get. #wink

So, what we can do,

  • Cover your face and hair with cloth before stepping out. Protect them from Sun and pollution.
  • If we can not take a spa session regularly, get a good mask treatment for hair and skin at home. (There are multiple posts available on different face mask on Mygirlypedia. Do search in the search box below. )

  • Hair oiling is must.
  • Do not buy cheap cosmetics. Spend money at beauty store instead of spending later at dermatologist.
  • Eat right ladies…!!!

I hope you find the post useful gal.

Keep Glowing, inside out.

How to Do Facial at Home

Hey beautiful,

There are multiple beauty treatments available out there…  Facial is one of the famous one. You might have even tried it before. But, I an gonna share a quick post today about facial at home.  That will definitely help you to do less chemical facial with no much damage to your budget.

What is facial???
A beauty treatment which involves steam, exfoliation, extraction, face mask and face massage. It’s done to rejuvenate skin and get a nice glow.

Steps Involved

Step 1

Cleansing

We don’t want to start with a dirty base right. Let’s remove all the dust/makeup and start preparing the skin. Use a good cleanser of your choice to cleanse the face and neck.
Step 2

Exfoliate

Lets remove those dead skin cells from your face and neck to get smoother skin.
You can use Natural scrub made up of brown sugar and essential oil, if you have dry skin. Or simply use the paste made up of brown sugar / coffee powder and water if you have normal to dry skin.

Please be very gentle while scrubbing. Over exfoliation is never recommended.

Step 3

Steaming

In order to open facial pores, let’s enjoy some steam. All you need to do is, boil water and take the steam by facing the bowl and covering head with a towel. You can add some drops of essential oils to water to enjoy even more.
Step 4

Face Pack

Now that the pores are open, let’s apply face mask to get most of the benefits. You can choose face mask of your own choice depending on the skin needs. Some recommendations for extreme skin types,
Oily skin – fuller earth + water

Dry skin – any fruit mask

Some people opt for peel off masks. I don’t recommend it personally. Because since you have already done with exfoliation, it will result in over exfoliation.

If you want to know how to make most of a face mask, do check this post of mine.
Step 5

Toning

After a good amount of time, wash off the face pack. Now let’s close the open pores and seal the goodness of face pack in there. In order to do that, opt for a good toner and apply it all over your face and neck with the help of cotton pads. The best toner recommend is rose water…!!!
More beauty benefits of rose water, here…!!!
Step 6

Moisturize

Now that we are done with sealing the pores, let’s layer them with a good amount of moisturizer for that extra nourishment. You can chose oil based moisturizer, if you have dry skin. Or water based, if you have normal to oily skin.
You are done with home facial now…!!!

If you thinking of getting it done at spa or a parlor, you need to consider few points.
Please check this post of mine before booking an appointment.
I hope you find these steps and tips useful for your next spa session. 💋

Keep shining,

Everything You Need to Know About Foundation

Hey you all,

No matter whether you are into makeup or no, you know or might have heard about ‘foundation’… So, today I thought of sharing everything I know about foundation with you guys…

Foundation, as the name suggests it is used for a perfect base. It evens out the skin tone and hides the flaws like acne marks, fine lines etc. Some uses it to change their natural skin tone(trust me, its not a good idea.) Plenty of foundations, of different brands and multiple shades are available in the market. You just have to find the right shade and right type of foundation, to enhance your natural skin tone.

How-Color-Match-Your-Foundation-Video

Types of Foundation:

1. Oil-Free, Matte-Finish Liquid Foundations – These are suitable for oily skinned beauties. These foundations covers up the flaws and give you matte look without making you look greasy/ dewy. Beauties with normal / dry skin do not opt for this one. You might end up with dry and flaky skin.

Liquid-Foundation

2. Long-Wearing, Matte-Finish Liquid Foundations – These are again for oily skin. They are different from the above one in terms of their consistency. These are more runny in terms of texture and long lasting. Application of these is quite easy.

3. Moisturizing Liquid Foundations – These are for the normal to dry skinned girls. Some of them also have skin repairing qualities.

4. Pressed Powder Foundations – These are like pressed powders. They are well suited for normal to dry skin. They provide you with light to medium coverage.

w

5.  Cream-to-Powder Compact Foundations – These are like a mixture of creamy and powder foundations. These are suitable for normal skin. Its coverage is more than the cream/powder foundations.

6. Stick Foundations – These are Cream-to-Powder Compact Foundations in a tube packing. The packing makes it easier for application.

e

7. Sheer Foundations and Tinted Moisturizers – These are multipurpose creamy foundations. They add moisture, gives coverage and protection from sun(SPF content).

8. Mineral Makeup – Powder foundation with more coverage.

How to find right foundation as per your skin type:

maxresdefault

1. Dry Skin:
If your skin is dry, go for the moisturizing foundations. Using sponge/ brush might make skin dry, so apply it using fingers.

2. Normal Skin:
These are the lucky ones. They can flaunt any type of foundation.

3. Oily skin:
Opt for the medium to full coverage, non oily foundation to avoid the greasy/ oily look. Applying foundation using sponge/ brush is recommended.

4. Combination skin:
You can choose liquid foundation. You can set it by apply powder foundation to your T zone to avoid the greasiness around the nose and forehead.

5. Aged skin:
In order to avoid fine lines and deposition of foundation on wrinkles, go for light coverage liquid foundation or tinted moisturizers.

6. Sensitive skin:
Medium to full coverage foundation is a must. But, I would personally suggest to check the ingredients before choosing one. The chemicals in there, should not worsen the situation. Hence prevention is better than cure.

How to choose right shade of Foundation:

These are the tips I am giving you out of my or my friend’s experience. :
1. Do not buy them online. You might think that the shade you see over the internet suits you. But, unless and until you try it, do not assume any shade.
2. Try the foundation on your forehead instead of on your wrist. The skin texture and color differs from wrist to face. For this, go bare face to store and try the shade which you think suits. Choose the one which matches exactly to your skin tone.
3. Do not buy the shade which is lighter / darker than your natural tone. This will never look good. Lighter shade will make you look like a ghost and darker one makes you look like a tanned face girl.
4. Invest in a good branded foundation. Your skin’s health should be the priority.

Types of Foundation Applicator and how to use them:

1. Foundation Brush:
a. Take required amount of foundation on your wrist/ palm.
b. Dip the brush in it and with upward stroke, apply foundation on your face.
c. You can use your fingers to blend those fine lines.
d. This makes liquid foundation application easy.

2. Beauty Blender Sponge:
a. Dip the sponge in water.
b. Squeeze the excess water. (This will avoid product wastage, as the wet sponge won’t be able to absorb foundation. This also makes foundation light and easy to apply.)
c. Dab foundation on your face using the sponge.
d. You can use either fingers or the sponge itself to blend it.
e. Use the tip for application on or around nose and eyes.
f. Broader end is for application over the forehead, chin and cheeks.
g. This is best for applying liquid foundation.

3. Powder sponge:
a. Press the powder against the foundation cake.
b. Press it on your face lightly for maximum coverage.
c. Do not rub it on face, this will remove the makeup instead of settling foundation on face.

4. The natural one – your fingers:
a. You can take sufficient amount of foundation on your finger tips.
b. Apply it on your face with circular motion.
c. I personally recommend this because the blending is really easy and product wastage will be minimal.

How to Apply Foundation:

a. Prepare your face before applying foundation , by applying primer. (Primer is a clear gel, which shrinks the pores. This makes face look more even and clean.)
b. You can use concealer before or after foundation. This hides the marks/ uneven skin tone.
c. Now you can apply the right shade foundation suitable for your skin type.
d. You can use any applicator of your choice, whichever you are comfortable with.

Some more tips:

  1. Always apply foundation on a clean fresh face.
  2. Maintain hygiene. Keep your brushes/ sponges clean. (Will write separate post on how to clean the beauty tools soon.)

Hope you find these tips useful… 🙂
