Happy and PAWsitive Diwali Everyone

Hey pretty,

Imagine; one night, all of a sudden some terrorists exploding bombs near your home. On your home. Every where… There are fire balls in the sky…. Only thing you can hear is louddd noise of explosion everywhere. You are crying. Begging to stop. But everyone around you is laughing and they continue to drop bombs. You cry. You run to find some safe place to hide. But you fail. You keep running. Some nasty kids tie bombs to your back. They burst and you can’t feel your back anymore. It’s burnt. You scream….

It does sounds scary. .. Doesn’t it??? This is exactly how animals feel during Diwali…!!!

You must have seen dogs and cats running crazily during Diwali. When they see crackers bursting. People assume that that’s because of the lights or fire they are scared of. Naaa… That’s because they can hear the noise of crackers much more louder. (Read the word noise twice)

Science has proved that the hearing capacity of animals is much more greater than that of human beings. That means they can even hear lowest sound as well. You must have heard that animals get to know about earthquake, flood etc much before time. That’s all because they have great hearing power.

Diwali is a festival of lights. It’s the celebration of victory of good over evil. We are supposed to lighten up diya and brighten up our homes. Spread sweets, happiness to lighten up hearts.

Not only animals even for humans, it does cause problems. Crackers we burst might look beautiful but, the noise it causes and pollution it does doing no good to us. Every year we hear incidents about children losing their eyes, ears, getting burnt because of crackers. People with respiratory problems are not allowed to burst crackers. Because of the smoke.

Couple of states have already banned crackers this year. #Salute Unfortunately, in India anything and everything ends up in religious discussion. But it’s not about any religion or custom. It’s about animals who have equal rights to live. About environment where we can peacefully live.

I believe, there are three kinds of people around. One, who love animals and are kind to them. Two, who doesn’t like it but doesn’t harm them either. Three, the cruel ones who doesn’t help them but torture them.

If you cannot be type one, at least be type two. But never be type 3. #please

We as a family, love animals more. Crackers are banned at our home even before my birth…!!! All thanks to my mom who introduced us to these special friends… Who Loves us immensely. To the pure love they give, giving up on crackers and taking care of them is the least we can do. Right???

So take care of our furry friends and environment… Say no to crackers… Be the voice of voiceless. Raise your voice if you find someone torturing animals by bursting crackers near them.

Light up lamps… Spread love… Spread light… Spread happiness…

The world needs it more…!!!

OOTD | I Love This Look, Bepannah

Hello….

It’s rainy day here…. I hope you are dry and safe…

You know, we sometimes get so much inspired by some people, the way dress up the way they talk, walk and especially lead an independent life. I’m referring to one of the Indian television celebrities – Jennifer Winget.

She is a doll. I have written about her in this article. Where I have mentioned why I get so much inspired by her. Not just the way she carries herself but also the way she leads an independent life and manages to be positive.

No doubt, she is a doll. She manages to look pretty all the time. I loved her performance in her previous show – Beyhadh. I loved her outfits in her current show – Bepannah.

 

Her earrings, her Indian attires are treat for every fashion enthusiast’s eyes.

Inspired by her accessories, I have been trying to add more pieces to my collection.

Here is the oxidised earring I bought last evening which reminded me of Zoya( Jennifer’s character’s name).

Do you also chose your accessories first and then the outfit??? I do that most of the times. Today is one such day.

This kurta is one of my favorites. Not just because it’s my favorite color, but also I loved the pattern and the soft poly rayon material.

The round neck is something I really love. It adds it’s own spark to the outfit. Plus it is perfect and appropriate to wear it for work place.

The purple strips on the neck and the sleeves makes it look more attractive.

Basic and Simple Grooming Tips for Men

Some of my male friends have been complaining that I always write ‘out of syllabus’ topics on my blog. Asked me to write some posts that would help them too. Well, boys, here is a post explicitly for you.

What comes to your mind when I say -Grooming? Not just the outfit you wear or the hair style you opt for. It includes many more little things.

Just like the way you guys notice ‘certain things’ in a girl, we do notice certain things in you too. I hear some of you yelling that ‘girls won’t get impressed by you’. Read on to know the basic steps to impress a girl. haha.

Outfit –

I have seen guys following some outfit trends blindly. For example the low waste jeans, the most annoying (most funny yet times) style I have ever come across. You might think you look cool. But, it’s a thumbs down from us.

Women usually like men with nice dressing sense. Do not wear something unwashed, crumpled, very tight(provided if you have those killer abs for which you have been working hard), colors that won’t suit you(as far as possible, please do not wear neon colors. Especially if you are going to meet a girl for the first few times. You don’t want to hurt her eyes. Do you??? ) etc.

PS: Brownie points for men in formals. #hot

Footwear –

Na, I am not telling you to categorise your footwear like we do. For office wear, for parties, night out, blah blah. Na. But guys, kindly think about ‘basics’. Like, do not wear bathroom slippers to office or a party. (Yes, I have seen men doing that mistake. )

Casual footwear like sneakers would look cool with t-shirts.Β A well polished formal shoes with a formal attire – ahhh hello handsome. (Trust me, you don’t need top have that killer body to flaunt this look.

Let me share a secret, just to simpler this point. Try to match your belt with footwear. This will make you look more appealing with minimal efforts.

Hair:

I don’t restrict you with some particular hair style. Do experiment with hair but please stick to the hair styles that suits you. Do not over experiment.

In order to avoid bald patches and dandruff, you have to take a good care of your hair. Keep your hair and scalp clean with regular wash. Once in a while, applying oil to your hair will make them healthy too.

Nose Hair and Ear Hair –

Kindly ask your barber to trim those nose and ear hair. Trimmed hair gives you a well groomed appearance. Over grown nose hair and ear hair is just tacky.

Beard –

Ahh you guys know that we love men with beard. But what you might not know is we don’t really like hippy. Yes, growing beard is not exactly the goal. Grooming it well should be. There are multiple oils and creams available to take care of beard. Regular trimming and combing should be enough for keeping them in good condition.

Also, let me be frank with you. Beard doesn’t suits everyone. On some it looks so amazing and they look so manly. For some it looks like a kid who is trying hard to look like a man. If you think you fall in the category of ‘cute’, don’t worry there are many girls who love clean shaved chocolate boys.

Face –

Washing face with a good face wash at least twice daily must be in your routine. Else you are inviting blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and what not…!!! You don’t want to look ugly right??? Buy a good face wash for your ‘rough and tough’ skin and start taking care of it.

PS: Using a face wash never makes you less manly.

Smell good –

This is very very basic. Those sweat stains and that awful smell is just a big turn down.

Take bath daily. Invest on some good deodorant or a perfume that lasts long. Because I know you guys are not as dedicated as we are for touch ups. Once applied – done. Phew. Hence opt for a good, long lasting fragrance.

And yes, please make sure you have some lady by your side while shopping a perfume. Because men with strong perfume on them are yet times root cause of head aches.

Tanning –

Ok, so you guys have this ‘misconception’ that, applying packs and taking care of yourself is considered ‘girly’. Well hello, letting your skin tanned like a buffalo and letting it dry like desert is not considered manly either. Sorry I might sound rude. But this is like a bigΒ  no for me, at least. I am not asking you to dip yourself in a pool of body lotions, to get silky sift skin. haha. But too much negligence about self grooming is also not acceptable.

Apply sunscreen on arms and hands before leaving house. If you think I am asking too much, at least cover yourself before going out in sun. Do not roam around in the sun without protecting yourself, only because you are a rough and tough man. Remember, sun is tougher than you. Effects of his rays are similar on both men’s as well as women’s skin.

 

Dark lips –

You must have heard the term – kissable lips. Well, what you might not heard is it applies to you too. Those dark, chapped dry lips. Arrgghh looks like a land suffered fromΒ  drought. Kindly apply a colorless lip balm before going to bed at least twice in a week. (Ideally it should be daily. Well, considering your ‘consciousness’, I am reducing it to twice a week.) Also make sure the lip balm is colorless because, you don’t want to show off pink or red lips. That definitely will make you look ‘girly’.

These are some of the basic grooming tips I could think of. Hope it helps you.

Tanned Feet??? This Post Will Make Them Happy Feet

Sometimes it happens with everyone of us, that even though we know the solutions to our beauty problems, we are way too lazy to execute them. I mean we silently cry due to the issues we face but not ready to spend time working for it. #typical.

I know I have quite handful of posts for taking care of feet. But my feet are the most neglected ones, when it comes to ‘skin care’. I was so lazy to buy new pair of socks(ahh whenever I buy, one of them always always manages to disappear magically…!!!), that I used to travel to office under hot sun with my feet almost open(I rarely wear closed footwear). You don’t really have to think much about the consequences I am facing because of that. Ummm tanned feet…!!! Arrggghhh…!!!

Skin covering our face is the most delicate one, where as the one covering feet is quite hard. Hence the care which needs to be taken differs. Even though I do know the steps I need to take care of to keep feet look fresh, I am bit lazy to follow them.

I am writing this post to share my ‘knowledge’ and with the hope to start following them by myself. Starting from today.!!

Prevention is better than cure:

Don’t be as lazy like me. Always cover your feet too when you are going out in hot sun. A good quality shoes are the better option. This helps in preventing your feet from getting tanned. Also, in monsoon it helps in protecting feet from fungal infections caused by dirty water on roads. (Most of the Indian women can relate to this.)

 

Scrub:

Those dry, cracked heels look really bad. (I don’t have that issue. All thanks to sweatty feet). To get rid of dead skin cells and tan to a certain extent, all you need to do is scrubbing. A pumice stone or a good foot brush will help you with this.

Foot Mask:

Yep, just like you would treat your face to get rid of tan by applying face packs, you apply a nice foot mask. There are multiple brands who have introduced so many nice foot packs and masks to the world. For removal of tan, I’m gonna list out some of the natural bleaching agents you find at home. You can mix them or can apply them individually.

  • Foot Cream:

To lock in the moisture in order to enhance the texture of skin, all we need is a good moisturiser. I recommend this amazing foot cream from the brand The Body Shop. This is the petition I signed recently. This is one inhuman act done by some psycho, insane creatures(who are not fit to be called humans.) buried this innocent dog alive.

An innocent dog was sleeping on the side of the road of Agra(city where the world famous, ‘symbol of love’ Taj Mahal exists). People who were constructing the road, instead of waking the dog up, poured hot coal tar on it and crushed the dog with road roller….!!!! Humanity died pathetically, yet again.

In order to request for the maximum punishment for this psychopaths, I would urge you to sign it too.

When you are blessed with a voice, raise it to help a voiceless.

Simple Steps to Follow This Year, for Better Health and Beauty

Be awesome to everyone…!!!

Well, my pretty reader – since we are in a very new year, we all are energised, happy and hopeful for something good this year. Let’s take some steps to achieve the best of ourselves. Sounds good??? Cool. Lets do this.

I have a post for you today which will list down all the small yet good steps which we need to take in order to get the awesome results.Β You know you are not too old to dream a new dream and to set a new goal for yourself. right???Β  Try to include these stepsΒ  everyday. Come on, theses are very simple. You can do it. Or, let me rephrase it as – ‘We’Β  can do it.

Shall we start???

Health comes first. Lets start with easy breezy steps to improve health.

Physical Health Tips:

  • Drink more water.( Don’t yawn plz. I know you have been reading this a lot. Its time to practice it)
  • Eat healthy. (Stop yawning)
  • Instead of asking you to eliminate junk food from your diet, let me put it this way. Lets challenge ourselves not to eat junk food for 2 days, then eventually increase that to a week, a month. IΒ  myself a huge junk food addict. I have made my mind to train it by accepting such challenges. Hello, if I win??? I am gonna treat myself with some junk food. haha that is how we treat an addict.
  • Start your day with a glass of warm water and honey.
  • Are you a chocolate lover like me??? I am replacing my chocolates with dark chocolates. Because dark chocolates with more than 70% cocoa have more antioxidants. Are you with me in this ‘mission dark chocolate’???
  • Exercise. I am not asking you to pay for gym membership. We can do it right from where we are sitting. Just stretching, some leg exercises while you are seated on your chair, instead of taking elevator take stairs. I personally prefer stairs not only because its an easy workout, but its less crowded, peaceful and you get to breath some fresh air unlike in an elevator(you know what I mean).
  • Chew your food. Haha it sounds like a strict mommy’s dialogue. But jokes apart gal, we need to chew our food properly in order to ease the digestion process and to get more benefits from the food.
  • Brush your teeth twice daily. Oral health is very important. We tend to neglect that which results in bad breath and poor teeth condition. When all is good, we don’t get it. But when you suffer from teeth ache, then you realise all the bad things you did to your teeth. #karma haha
  • While Brushing, you can do some squats to utilize that time. Time saving huun??

Mental Health:

If you agree or not, most of us are hesitant and ignorant about mental happiness. Let’s not make that mistake this year. Because everything starts and ends at your mental health. If you are mentally fit, it will reflect in your physical health.

  • Make some time for yourself. Spend it on doing what you like. Be it self care, any hobby, cooking any thing.
  • Take a walk outside. Observe the world around you. When you are feeling low, even a small ant can be inspiring enough to lift you up. Ant falls while carrying a food particle which is much more bigger than it’s own size. But ant never gives up.
  • Spend time with old citizens, kids or pets. They help you forget all the stress.
  • Compliment or help some unknown people. Try it. You will know that kind of happiness.
  • Dance to your favorite music. You don’t have to be a professional dancer to enjoy the music. Just move your body to the beats(or off beats) the point is to enjoy it.
  • Sing. You are not participating in any music competition. There are no judges. Even if the people around you is trying to judge you, just ask them one question – what is the winning amount ??? #wink
  • Stressed??? I have a quick solution – Breath…!!!
  • Plan a vacation with loved ones. Be it a little one or big plan. Do it.
  • As they say there is always good in a bad day. Write down things you are thankful for at the end of the day.
  • Reduce the time you spend in the virtual world of social media.
  • Importantly – Smilllleeeee…..!!!!

Beauty Resolutions:

  • Take care of your skin.
  • Irrespective of weather, do not skip sunscreen.
  • Never go to bed with your makeup on. Plz.
  • I know we love our girl-friends. But plz stop sharing your makeup with them. You are not doing any good to yourself or to them. Sharing used makeup can harm your skin more.
  • Do not compromise on the products you use for your skin.
  • Maintain good hygiene to maintain good skin.
  • Clean your phone screen. It has maximum number of bacteria which can harm your skin.
  • Good sleep is a must.
  • You deserve a spa session at least once a month. You don’t have to make a hole in pocket by booking an appointment in a well known spa. You just make use of the ‘search’ box at the end of this page and get to know how to do facial, bath salts for that long relaxing bath, hair spa etc. at home…!!!
  • Most important tip – love yourself. You are an original creation. Do not try to imitate and be a copy.

So, these are some of the things lets try to implement in our daily routine.

Parasailing at Goa. It was breathtakingly amazing.Β  I am sayingΒ breathtakingly because, I am a bit phobic about deep water as I don’t know swimming. While parasailing, while you enjoy the top view of the sea, they make you experience a sudden dip in the sea. Phewww… It’s freaking awesome. A complete sudden dip in deeeeep sea. It was indeed adventurous. What about you???

PS: If the milk is ultra pasteurized, it will stink. Because it doesn’t contains the bacteria and enzymes which are required for the above mentioned uses. Hence do not use it.

So the next time when the milk gets sour, instead of throwing it away make the most out of it. (I mean by making best beauty uses apart from preparing cheese out of it. #wink)
