The Body Shop Mango Body Yogurt : Review

Hello,

Body lotion is something which is a must for us, whose has dry skin. As I had promised in my last product review post, I am reviewing body lotions from my collection, one by one.

While picking up the lotion for review, I noticed that I have many products from the brand ‘The Body Shop’. From their skin care range to hair care, I have most of them. #Shopaholic.

So, today the product I picked up is this body yogurt from the brand The Body Shop. These body yogurts were introduced somewhere last year. They have consistency of yogurt and as usual I was very excited to try something from this new launch. tada… I did. They have claimed that it is best suited for dry skin. Let’s see how it worked for my dry skin.

Brand : The Body Shop.

Range : Body Yogurt

What Does The Company Claims:

1) No time to moisturise? Now you do. Our Body Yogurts can be applied straight onto damp skin, so you can shower, moisturise and dress straight away.

2) They’re 100% vegan (we love cruelty-free beauty!).

3) Each Body Yogurt is enriched with Community Trade organic almond milk from Spain.

4) They have a fast-absorbing, non-sticky, non-greasy, gel-cream formula that leaves the skin feeling moisturised for up to 48 hours.

Flavours: Yes, they are available in five different flavours. Trust me, they all smell delicious. Even a friend of mine smelled the body yogurt and she was like, “get me a spoon, I will eat this”. haha.

The 5 flavours available in Indian market are:

  • Mango (Which I loved the most.)

  • British Rose

  • Strawberry

  • Almond Milk

  • Moringa

  • Banana

PS: You can click on each image above to buy the flavour you like.

Price: Rs 845 for 200 ml

Shelf Life: 32 months. Once opened, 12 months.

Best part : It’s cruelty free. The Body Shop has special place in my heart because of their cruelty free products and the campaign they started to stop poor animals getting harmed while making cosmetics. 🐰

Packing:

It comes in this cute, little, sturdy plastic tub pack with all details printed on it. The colour of the tub is in match with the flavour of the product inside. So it makes it easier to recognise the product without having to opening it up. The plastic cap covering the tub is quite sturdy and tight. Thus you can carry it while you travel.

Only drawback I can see in this kind of packing is the hygiene. Because with tube packing you can squeeze out the required quantity of product out and use. Whereas in tub packing, you got to dip your fingers to take out the product. So in terms of hygiene, tube packing over tub packing, always.

Fragrance:

It smells delicious. Are you a lover of mango??? You are going to love this. As soon as you open the pack a very sweet fragrance lingers in air. I must say this fragrance is quite strong. As I love this fragrance, I don’t find it as a con.But girls with sensitive nose might find it little over empowering. Good thing about this fragrance is, it fades away soon, post applying on skin.

Colour:

This is definitely a yummy colour.

Consistency:

This is a gel + cream like consistency. Very light. It is non greasy, non-oily. Once applied, gets absorbed really quick.

My Experience:

I did apply this post bath when skin requires moisture the most. As I mentioned earlier, it got absorbed quite fast and made my skin feel smooth. Which most of the lotions do.

Real test for a body lotion/ body care product comes during evening. Where skin becomes dry again. But for a surprise, my skin was feeling normal. It wasn’t dry as it always does by evening. As company has claimed 48 hours moisture and my skin wasn’t too dry, I skipped re applying it in evening to test the claim. But by morning my skin had become dry again. So, out of my experience, 48 hours might not hold true for dry skin. But I must say it did a good job by keeping skin moisturised all throughout the day.

Pros:

  • Kept my skin moisturised all throughout the day.

  • Light formula.

  • Non greasy, non-oily.

  • Little quantity is enough as compared to body creams.

  • Yummy fragrance.

  • 5 different flavours to choose from.

  • Travel friendly and cute packing.

Cons:

  • Tub packing is quite problematic when it comes to hygiene.

  • Some might find it pricey.

  • Fragrance fades away quite soon.

Will I recommend this to you???

Yes if you have dry skin and no time to re-apply lotion, this one is for you.

Will I repurchase?

Yes. I prefer these kind of body care products while I travel, where I don’t get time to sit and apply lotion frequently. Apply once a day and you are good to go kind. But next time, would like to try out different flavour.

Here Is The Best Body Lotion For You This Christmas..!!!

hey,

Merrryyyy Christmas…!!! It brings out so many childhood memories..!! Since my schooling is done from catholic school, I have got opportunity to experience the feel of Christmas thoroughly. Decorating Christmas tree, making a small hut and placing statues of Jesus Mary Joseph in it, receiving gifts from school, dancing, singing – happiness everywhere. As a kid, we used to love that feel.

Umm, now to the business. Are you a dry skinned gal like me??? Fed up of trying out different body lotions to keep the skin hydrated??? Well, I have a super good news for you…!!! I have found the best body lotion for you. Hence I am sooo glad and equally excited to share this review with you.

Aveeno is a product from US. Na, I didn’t had too buy it from their by paying any custom charges nor I asked any of my friends to get it from their. The best part is, their products are available in India now..!!! At quite reasonable price. #HappyDance

Wanna know about the lotion more??? Read on…

Brand:

Aveeno

Shelf life:

3 Years

Ingredients:

DSCN0618

What the Product Claims:

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion is clinically proven to improve the health of dry skin in 1 day, with significant improvement in 2 weeks. Formulated with Active Naturals Colloidal Oatmeal and rich emollients, this nourishing lotion helps prevent and protect dry skin for a full 24 hours. As a skin protectant active ingredient, oatmeal can help restore skin’s normal pH and aid in the maintenance of skin’s moisture barrier to help prevent and protect dry skin. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion doubles skin moisture, and over time keeps working even if you skip a day. Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and naturally healthy looking and is gentle enough for everyday use. It’s also fragrance free, non greasy and noncomedogenic.

Packing:

It comes in a not so fancy plastic bottle, with a pump dispenser. This kind of packing is hygienic as you don’t have to dip your fingers in the cream like you do in case of a tub packing.

DSCN0619

The best part of this packing is, there is this locking system. Thus you can make this your travel buddy by not worrying about any spillage. This kind of locking system, by turning the pump nozzle is not common among other lotion with pump dispenser. I liked it.

Fragrance:

This is a good news for all those who are specific for fragrances when it comes to lotions or creams. To those, who are sensitive nosed. The good news is, the lotion doesn’t really has any fragrance as such…!!! haha. When you apply it at first, you might smell a faint smell of Vaseline. But its negligibly faint and vanishes in few seconds.

DSCN0617

Texture:

Its a cream consistency. Glides smoothly. Non sticky, non greasy.

Moisturizing???

Yes. Yes and a big yes. I had applied this in the morning post bath. Didn’t apply any lotion till the next morning. Even after sitting in air conditioned environment at office(which really feels like a refrigerator some times ufff) my skin was not that dry which it usually is if I don’t apply lotion. I am happy with the amount of time it protects skin from getting dried.

I also tried what they claim yesterday(I preferred weekend over weekdays because of AC. Sitting in office, under AC without lotion on skin will be torturous). Skipping the lotion for a day. I didn’t apply lotion at all. Usually in winter if I don’t apply lotion I could feel my skin dry and stretchy. But, thankfully the effect was quite minimum. Skin dryness was under control. Thus it did proved what they claim.

Is this lotion in my ‘Rebuy’ list???

Yes Of course. The price we are paying for this amazing product is totally worth.

DSCN0616

Will I recommend this to you???

Yes. I would love to recommend this gentle, soft and super moisturizing lotion to you. All normal to dry skinned girls should try this. This is the answer for that perfect lotion quest. I am sure you will love this.

Vaseline Intensive Care Spray Moisturiser Reviewed

When people ask me which is my favorite body cream, I always say Vaseline Cocoa Glow. Like, always.

I spend a lot time applying body lotion post bath. My Papa calls me ‘Cream gal’ (with reference to the bollywood heroine and her movie Dream gal) as I spend most of my time applying  creams religiously.

Sometime back, I saw a spray form of my favorite body lotion. Same bottle with a spray packing. Sounds quite time saving humm… Tada, I bought it from here.

DSCN0571

Let’s see whether I’m replacing my old bottle of Vaseline Cocoa glow with this spray bottle.

Brand :

Vaseline

Flavor :

This one is Cocoa Radiant.

There are other variants of Vaseline lotions, which have these spray bottles. So, if you are a lover of some other flavor and wanna try out spray version of it, I have direct links for you. Check it out.

Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Spray Moisturizer

Vaseline Intensive Care Deep Restore Spray Moisturiser

PS: 40% Off on these two also.

Price:

380 INR for 190 ml(There is 40% discount for this product on amazon.in today. )

 DSCN0596

Ingredients :

DSCN0587

 Packing :

It comes in a spray bottle. The color combination is similar to that of Vaseline Cocoa glow normal bottle.

Since you don’t have to dip your fingers in a tub full of cream, thus making this packing hygienic. Just twist the cap and press it to spray the lotion.

Travel friendliness :

Bottle is easy to carry in medium sized hand bags too.

This is perfect for those gals who are on go. Spray version is time saving.

Fragrance :

Similar to Vaseline cocoa glow normal version. But it’s bit faint.

Texture :

Very light. Non sticky, non greasy.

DSCN0595

How to Use:

Unlike the pump bottle version, where pump out lotion and apply on skin, you just open the cap and press the nozzle. Just like perfume. Really time saving.

DSCN0577

My take on spray lotion:

I must say, spraying lotion can some times become messy. Because, I had tried spraying it from the mentioned particular distance, but I ended up spilling some of the lotion on floor.  When we sprinkle perfumes, they get evaporated even if they fall on ground. But, imagine lotion droplets on floor. The slippery floor was too much to handle.

If you spray it from near, you will end up getting more product then needed(as shown in the picture above). You will have to rub it in order to distribute it evenly.

Did it moisturize my dry skin??

Well, I personally feel this version of lotion didn’t moisturize my dry skin as that of the other version. May be that’s because it’s really light in texture. May be.

Will I repurchase?

Travel friendliness is not really a big concern for me. I don’t mind carrying huge bag with all my essential stuffs. Plus, my major concern is dry skin. So I really prefer the old pump version.

Will I recommend??

This is ideal for busy gals who are normal to Oily skinned. Yes they can give it a try.

Worst Hand Cream I have ever tried on my dry hands

Hey My Pretty Reader,

Recently I had been to a random shopping with one of my sweetest friend and best shopping partner. Best part is, she is as shopaholic as me. We are unstoppable…!!!

Bought a lot many things, this one is one among them.

wp-1507650690384..jpg

I have extremely dry hands. Please read the word ‘extremely’ twice. Yet times its so dry that the first layer of my skin gets pealed off. Yes… its that dry. #sob May be because I wash my hands frequently and the AC in which I spend most of my day time.

For such dry hands, a hand cream is a must. I always use the fab India hand cream. As I was bored, I thought of trying out something new.

The body cream and body scrubs which I have used from the brand Oriflame had worked well for me. That had made me try out their hand cream as well. Hence I picked this one up.

Lets see what made me feel this is the worst hand cream I have ever tried.

Name:

Silk Beauty White Glow Hand Cream

Brand :

Oriflame

wp-1507650691031..jpg

Price:

299 INR for 75 g

Online Shop Link:

https://in.oriflame.com/products/product?code=26436

Shelf Life:

3 years

Ingredients:

Contains parabens.

wp-1507650691577..jpg

Packing:

This comes in off white tube, with pale pink cap. It has this soft flower cartoon printed on it, which makes it look feminine.Tube packing make it hygienic as you don’t have to dig your fingers in order to get the product. It takes a less space in handbag thus making it a travel friendly one.

wp-1507650690721..jpg

Fragrance:

It has a typical smell which is neither pleasant nor mild. I really didn’t like the fragrance. When I had applied it on my hands and I was resting my face on my palms, it was literally suffocating. The smell is pretty much empowering. Sensitive nosed beauties, this one is not for you.

Texture:

This white cream is non greasy, not runny.

Does the product served the purpose??

No…!!! (I am screaming…!!!)

It is not at all moisturizing. Not at allll. It did not do any good to my dry hands. As per as the whitening is concerned, my previous hand cream does much much better job than this.

wp-1507650691842..jpg

Will I recommend???

If you have extremely dry hands like mine, never pick this up. It’s not gonna solve the problem.
If it had a good fragrance, I would have suggested this to oily skinned beauties. But, the fragrance is not good either. So, no to both.

Will I repurchase???

Never.

If you had ever thought of buying this, I hope I have saved your money…!!!

FabIndia Intensive Hand Cream lemon… Fab or na…!!!

Hey beautiful,

You must be enjoying a great relaxing weekend. Make sure to relax your soul along with your body today…!!! It is much more important.

By the word ‘relaxing’, I remembered a hand cream which is very relaxing and refreshing for my hands. Read on, to know more about the cream in detail.

It is one of the best hand creams I have used till date. As I had mentioned in my last post about ‘Hand care’, hand cream is a must when you want to keep your hand happy…!!!

This a fab India product, named ‘Intensive hand cream’ in lemon flavor.

IMG_20160618_144250

Let’s start with the review…

What it claims:

An intensive, non greasy formulation that combines natural extracts with essential oils. While lemon lightens the skin, glycerin softens it. Regular application ensures your hands remain supple and smooth.

Ingredients:

IMG_20160618_144307

Price: 290 INR for 120 ml (112g)

Shelf life: 3 years

Packing:

This hand cream comes in a yellow tube packing. The white cap is flip flop one. I always prefer tube packing over a tub one. Tube packing is more hygienic, as there is no need to dip your hand in cream unlike for the tub pack.

It is sturdy and does not take more space in your hand bag. Hence, I can say it is travel friendly.

IMG_20160618_144407

Cream’s texture:

The white cream is non greasy and glides easily. It does keep your hand moisturized but doesn’t feel oily.  Little goes long way so value for money as well.

IMG_20160618_202029

Fragrance:

It has a strong smell of lemon. This might be a con for those who doesn’t like strong fragrance.

Staying Power:

It keeps your hand soft for 3-4 hours. . I prefer using this after whenever I wash hands.

Availability:

It is available in all FabIndia stores and over online.

Does this stands to what it claims?:

Non greasy:  YES. This is non greasy.

Intensive: YES. This is moisturising.

Lightens skin tone: NO. I haven’t found this one true.

Softens hands: YES. It softens very dry hands too.

My overall experience:

As I had mentioned in my earlier post, most of the time I spend in AC environment. That makes skin and hair dry. sob sob But, this hand cream is one of the essential stuffs I carry in my hand bag. Anywhere and everywhere. I will surely buy this again.

Pros:

  1. Non greasy.
  2. Very moisturizing.
  3. Available in fabIndia stores and online.
  4. Affordable
  5. Value for money.
  6. Cruelty free. Not tested on animals.

Cons:

  1. Does not lighten skin tone.
  2. Strong lemon fragrance might be a problem for those with sensitive nose.
  3. Contains paraben.

Do I recommend the fabIndia intensive hand cream?

YES. If your hands are really dry and looking for a good hand cream, this is the one for you.

Will I repurchase the fabIndia intensive hand cream?

Of course dearie…!!! My hands are thankful for this pick. wink
