OOTD | How to Style A Black Crop Top In 5 Different Ways

Hi Girlies,

Dressing up or looking all dolled up makes me feel good. It makes me happy. That is why dress up game is my favourite. Yours?

So, I have made this post to show you a glimpse of dress up game I played today. ☺️

I styled this full sleeves crop top in five different ways. Colour of the top? You know how much I love the colour black. If you hadn’t, well, you know now. πŸ˜‰

I bought this crop top from Myntra. Β Some bottoms are bought from online store and some offline. Hehe.

Let’s get started with the looks.!

  • Β Boy friend jeans:

These are oversized jeans. I must say, they are too comfortable. I love wearing them especially on those days when I am feeling lazy to dress up but still want to look good. Haha we all have such days once in a while. True?

I usually keep accessories minimal or no accessory for such looks.

  • Palazzo:

I know I talk about this piece of cloth in most of my outfit posts. I just can’t help it. They are so comfortable and stylish that I love them a lot.

I had created a similar look with the same palazzo but a long top. Do you remember that post?Β

Well, this is a look inspired by that one. But crop top looks more cooler. Know?

I wore these big white earrings to add more girly touch. 😌

7B773680-675D-4982-A695-BB84E1568B3F4A2A2A1E-4A9D-4330-B35D-B2AAC6DC4E42963D7123-371B-4AA9-A2B9-36E79F58D2FB

I know this palazzo looks like a long skirt. Here is a pose to prove that it’s not a skirt. 😁

  • Monochrome:

Styling with single coloured outfit makes it a monochrome look.

Paired the same top with my favourite pair of black, stretchable, high waisted jeans.

Wore hoop earrings and kept the neck minimal. I personally like skipping neck accessory whenever I am wearing boat neck tops. Minimal the better for such pattern.

Also, included this silver, multilayered waist chain to add a pinch of spark to this monochrome look.

  • Skirt:

A favourite and comfortable piece of fabric loved by many – skirt.

Wore this striped pencil skirt along with the black crop top.

Chick look, perfect for brunch dates.

  • A touch of ethnicity:

Tried something new. Styled the same top with palazzo and twist to the look is the dupatta.!!

Draped the dupatta around to get a look of half sari. Added nice silver earrings and finger ring to increase ethnic look score. Plus, the bindi πŸ˜›

Tried with two different dupattas. I like the red one more. What about you? πŸ˜€

Red one:

So, these are the looks I created with keeping the top as a common piece of fabric across all looks.

I hope you enjoyed the looks as much as I did creating them. πŸ€—

OOTD : Shopping From My Own Wardrobe

“Ahhh I don’t have anything to wear…!!!” is a universal dialogue of girls. Typically said while they stand in front of their huge wardrobe. Sounds strange but yes that’s the real problem we all face, many a times.

Most of the girls love shopping (yes I have seen some exceptional cases who doesn’t like shopping at all. #SpareMe). We don’t really need an occasion to shop. Do we? But when we have occasion, we never avoid shopping. No matter how special the occasion is, we tend to buy new clothes to dress up.

If you are working lady, you will exactly understand what I am going to say next – During the start of the month we feel like shopping anything and everything. All thanks to the mobile apps who send you constant notifications about the offers and stuffs. Thus, we end up shopping more than what we need. By the end of the month, you might start regretting the money you wasted on the stuffs which you didn’t need. Ironically, if you clean up your wardrobe, there is high chance that you might come across at least a pair of clothes which you haven’t even worn at least once. Don’t you??? I have. **face palm**

So, to be guilt free and to stop wasting money, I have started a new thing, inspired by my favourite @wanderleen – shop from my own wardrobe.

How??? Just pick a piece of cloth and mix and match with different clothes and accessories you already own. Yes. That’s possible.

For example, I love this palazzo. Which I have worn multiple times with multiple tops/ Kurtis without wasting money on different jeans/ bottoms.

Look 2:

You know how we girls are. We buy nail paint/ accessories and then by matching outfit sometimes (trust me that happens sometime). So something similar was supposed to happen with me few days back.

One of my beautiful friends gifted me this beautiful embroidery dupatta. For which, I wanted to buy a plane black kurti. In spite the fact that my wardrobe is 60% filled with black clothes. #TypicalGirlIAm.

As it was a month end and making a hole in already torn out pocket was not at a good idea. So just give it a thought of having a glance at my wardrobe, check whether if something really goes with dupatta. Guess what??? I got this kurti which I had worn for this post. Where I had created a look inspired by Shraddha in the movie Stree.

Look 2:

From my Look book from the blog, found few more mix and match styles.

Styled this kurti in two different ways. One with jacket and one with signature laal(red) dupatta.

Look 2:

Blue crop top – with high waist jeans for office and with pencil skirt for a winter dinner date.

Look 2:

Styled this lehenga in two different way. One with long slit top and one with a blouse to give more festive look.

Look 2:

I am loving this shop from your own wardrobe thing. It’s economic, yet fun. Instead of going to a shop or shopping online, let’s try and shop from our own wardrobe and see how it turns out to be.

Bring out that stylist in you and try and enjoy the styling game. Let me know how it turns out to be.

OOTD : Navratri Day 7, The Color Red

As a symbol of triumph of good over bad, the festival ‘Navratri’ is celebrated.Β  Nav means 9 and Ratri means night. This festival is celebrated to worship 9 different forms of Durga. People over different regions name the festival with different names and follow different rituals.

Also, people wear nine different colors on each day of Navratri. Each color representsΒ  each form of Durga.

Today’s color is Red.

So, here is what I wore – Chikan embroidery Kurta and palazzo as a part of celebration at office.

IMG_20181016_153211_Bokeh.jpg

The bright red cotton Kurta has this soft thread embroidery work, which is famously called Chikan embroidery.

IMG_20181016_121832_Bokeh.jpg

The black palazzo also has this embroidery on it’s sleeves. Since the thread used for the work is also of same color, you might not see that in these picture clearly.

IMG_20181016_121156_Bokeh.jpg

However, being a good girl I have zoomed in the picture to show you the embroidery haha.

IMG_20181016_121953_Bokeh.jpg

Completed the look with the bindi. It gives a festive vibe.

IMG_20181016_153531_Bokeh.jpg

For accessories, I wore these red stone and white pearl earrings.

IMG_20181016_121902_Bokeh.jpg

My baby sis bought this wooden bangle from one of the shops in Bengaluru airport, for her darling sister (Meee…!!!). This is one of my favorite bangles.

I know it doesn’t really go with the red outfit if you look at it with the ‘matching’ perspective. But, they say dressing is an art. Sometimes it’s modern art (you know what I mean. haha)

No, seriously, instead of keeping all the accessories red, I just added this piece of accessory to keep the balance. The bangle is the resultant of mixing colors red and black.

Have a happy Navratri all you beautiful people…!!! πŸ™‚

OOTD : Kurti With Palazzos

Hello,

How’s summer treating you??? Are you enjoying the freshness of this season???

Let me ask you one more question… What’s your style mantra??? Especially for summers…

Like most of us, mine too is to feel comfortable in the easy breezy clothes. This morning I was not in a mood to go to office(nothing special about this morning. It’s every mornings’ story), it was quite humid outside. So, denim was definitely was not an option for me. Because as much as possible I avoid wearing tight clothes in summers for the obvious reasons…!!! Hence only easy breezy piece of fashion came to mind, to solve this little puzzle was – palazzos.

You guys have already seen my post regarding the different ways to style palazzos. Also, have seen my OOTD posts, where I have worn this beautiful and comfortable palazzos.

Outfit:

I picked up this kurti to pair with the black palazzos.

IMG_20180509_122403_Bokeh.jpg

This kurti is definitely one of my favorite. I usually pair this up with my black jeans. The sleeveless kurti is high neck one, with red patch at the upper half and at the bottom sleeve. The golden embroidery work on these red patches gives this kurti the look. On the black patch, there are these small lotus flowers, printed in golden color paint. This kurti somehow always gives me semi ethnic feel(you know what I mean).

Palazzos – Bought from a local boutique here in Pune.
Top – Mamma’s gift. πŸ™‚

IMG_20180509_122709_Bokeh.jpg

Accessories:

Today, I also wanted to go a bit of ethnic.(Read the word ‘bit’ twice). How??? wanted to wear this set of beautiful bangles which I had bought couple of weeks ago.

IMG_20180509_142024.jpg
Isn’t the Elephant on my bangle the Cutest???

There is something in these oxidised accessories, that just makes me fall in love with them.

IMG_20180509_122850_Bokeh.jpg

For ears, picked up these oxidised earrings from my collection. I can say the accessories for today were the oxidized accessories.

IMG_20180509_165411.jpg

Since it’s a high neck one, no scope for neck accessory haha.

IMG_20180509_122841.jpg

As I had also mentioned in my previous OOTDs, when you are wearing palazzos it’s always a good idea to choose heels over flats to complete the look. Wore these open-toed brown sandals from the brand – 20Dresses.

OOTD : Every Outfit Has it’s Own Story

Hello Reader,

Now that the Sun is slowly going to the peak to shine his best and making us looking all sweaty, all we need is comfortable clothes to survive the summer.

I am not complaining about summer. I love summer. We all know how much we used to love ‘summers’ because we used to get 2 months holiday from schools. It was all about spending time with friends, visiting relatives places, cozying up in front of television while mom serves some delicious food to you. Ahhh we didn’t even cared to know what ‘calories’ and ‘fats’ are…!!!Β  How blissful those days were…!!!

What are the things come to your mind when you hear the word summer??? For me its bright sunny day, fresh air and dark colors.

Talking about comfortable clothing, you know which fabric is best suited for summers??? Cotton…!!! Yes you are right. Cotton clothes are chosen over any other fabric for the most comfort they provide during scotching heat.

IMG_20180323_120431_Bokeh.jpg

Hence to combine my favorite and comfort, I chose to buy this cotton maroon Kurta during my recent haul.

Why kurta?Β I love wearing Kurtas and Kurtis. Pairing them with leggings and especially palazzos make the day perfectly comfortable for me. I will post some of the palazzo outfits soon on blog.

About today’s OOTD.

Here are the details of the outfit.

I chose to pair this dark colored kurta with a white legging.

IMG_20180323_120356_Bokeh.jpg

Kurta:

It’s a long, Anarkali patterned kurta, from the brand HERE&NOW, bought online from Myntra.

As I said, the dark color made me pick this one. It has this black, red and white design on the upper half part of the dress. That makes it attractive.

The side button on the upper body and the long thread to tie it up, adds that fun portion.

Legging:

Even though I had an option to pair this with black one, I chose white legging. Because white adds that feminine and sophisticated look to an outfit.

IMG_20180323_120451_Bokeh.jpg

Accessories:

Bangles:

You know how much I love accessories. I chose white metal Bangles. (I love the look they add and sound they make)

Earrings:

I had bought this earrings from a flea market in Pune. Each earring has a bunch of these tiny bells which you can ideally find in anklets. They are cute yet elegant.

Neck:

I chose to go with no accessories for neck.

Footwear:

You must be thinking I buy everything thing from Myntra. I can’t say everything but most of the things, yes.

IMG_20180323_120900_Bokeh.jpg

This open-toed brown sandals is my new buy from the brand 20 dresses , bought online from Myntra. Since the kurta is quite long, I chose heels over flats.

Did you like my outfit??? Do let me know in the comments section.

I love getting clicked… I hope you love reading my OOTD posts too…!!! 🀩

  • Layered look:
Palazzo help you keep yourself warm. You can opt for the first look I mentioned i.e. a t-shirt and a palazzo. Twist is, you can add that extra oomph by wearing those fashionable jackets. You have options like denim jackets, leather jackets, shrugs, blazer to name a few. Depending on the occasion, pick the jacket and it will change your look drastically.

  • Formal look:
Apart from chick girly looks, you can also pair up it with a formal shirt to get that corporate look.

  • Jumpsuit look:
Jumpsuit are fun to flaunt but every gal who had tried this look knows the exact problem with jumpsuits. Hint: “washroom talks” *haha*
So, if you are a fan of jumpsuits, you have a comfortable alternative. Pair a lose top with monochrome palazzo. This gives you a look of jumpsuit with more comfort.

  • Β Ethnic with a twist look:
Wear knee length top with palazzo and layer it with long jacket. This look is something ethnic with a bit of twist.

  • Party look:
Embellished zardozi and chikankari tops , anarkali tops paired with palazzo gives elegant party look.
