Nivea Coloron Crayon : Review and Swatch

You might have seen the Nivea lip balm in the local drug stores. Might have tried them too. Recently in my rndom haul, I came across this new launch from Nivea that is coloron crayon. Being super enthusiast for lip products, needless to say, I did by this product. Let’s see more about this product.

They have three shades in this range:

Click on the images below, to buy the shade you like.

1 Pop red

2 Coral crush

3 Hot pink.

Only first two shades were available in the store I visited and I went with the shade Pop red.

What does company claims:

Ingredients:

Price:

299 INR post discount 249 INR for 3 gram or 3.3 ml

Shelf life:

29 months. Once opened, 12 months.

Packing:

The outer cartoon has this all the details about the product including the mode of use, ingredients etc.

The product comes in crayon packing. it’s beautiful red stick with the name of the company printed on it. The cap covering the product is transparent which makes it easier to recognise the colour of the product using. The bottom is the white twister you can twist it, in order to take out the product. The red and black color combo makes it look pretty.

The crayon packing is a good travel companion.

Shade:

It’s a pretty red shade, which is ideal for a day out or party.

Is it moisturizing:

Yes. It does keep your lips moisturized. My lips felt moisturized for about four hours, while I was in air conditioned environment. Mentioning this because you know air conditioning makes skin dry.

But I must say, if you have dry lips, it does highlight the cracks. Even though your lips feel moisturized, the cracks are still visible. Strange… 😪

Texture:

It has creamy texture. Has shimmery particles. But it doesn’t look tacky, but I’m not a fan of this kind of finishing either.

Does it transfer:

Yes it did.

How long did it last:

Company itself has mentioned on the product to reapply to keep lips moisturized and tinted, so can’t expect a long lasting formula.
The shimmery texting fades away pretty soon, with water and food. But it leaves the tint on your lips. This lasted for about three to four hours on my lips.

Once Applied

My take:

This is a pretty good for the amount we are paying. It moisturizes lips and gives good color payoff.

Even though I know some lipsticks which are good at keeping lips moisturized and cost you less, this product wins when it comes to moisturization. My lips didn’t feel the need for a lip balm.

But I didn’t like the fact that it highlighted the lines or cracks on lips.

Pros:

  • Availability.
  • Travel friendly packing.
  • Keeps lips moisturized.
  • Good color payoff.
  • Decent deal for the money paid.

Cons:

  • I’m not a fan of shimmery finish.
  • Highlights the cracks, if you have dry lips.

Mygirlypedia rating: 3/5.

Makeup Products for Beginners, Under Budget

Recently, one of my friends asked me to suggest some cosmetics which are best and within the budget.

With the collection of stuffs I have, the ones I have personally tried and tested, making a list for you.

So, let’s do this…!!!

Lipstick –

If you are very new to the world of lipsticks, it usually happens that you are not sure which colour suits you. It makes total sense that you don’t want to waste money on some expensive lipstick, which looked good on you while you tried in shops but didn’t suit you in day light. So, for beginners, I would suggest this brand of lipsticks – Elle 18.

Why I am suggesting Elle 18:

  • They are totally totally pocket friendly. Price range is between Rs 80 to Rs 150.
  • They have wide range of colours to choose from. From bright shades to n*de ones, they have it.
  • If you want to try out different textured lipsticks like glossy, matte etc, have no worries because Elle 18 got them all.
  • Best thing I love about Elle 18 is that they do not dry the lips.

If you want suggestions with shades, watch this video of mine where I have shown swatches of lipsticks suitable for beginners.

Lip-gloss –

Needless to say, the lipstick lover in me has typed these two sections first.

Lip-gloss, as the name suggests, is more glossier and adds shine to lips. If you are not sure whether you will be able to carry shiny lips, then try these gloss from Lakme.

Why???

  • Price is Rs 200.
  • They are glossy and moisturising. Thus no fear of dried lips
  • The shade rage is very limited to 3. But, you can apply a lipstick and on top, add this gloss. Voila, you created your own shade…!!!

Compact Powder –

If you are an oily skinned beauty, compact is a must to avoid shiny face. If you have combination skin, it is advised to pat some compact on your T- Zone and forehead to skip the greasiness. For more details about compact powder – here you go.

For beginners, I would suggest compact from Lakme.

Why???

  • The compact will costs you Rs 145.
  • Even though they have shades limited to 4, you can mix two different shades to match your skin tone if needed.
  • Travel friendly packing comes with mirror. So, touch ups made easy.
  • Plus you don’t have to spend more money on applicator. It comes with applicator sponge as well.

Foundation –

In case you want to know what and why we use foundation, check this post of mine. Where I have explained all minute details about foundation.

So, to talk about budget friendly foundation, the less priced ones I have tried are from Lakme. They are –

  1. Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation – Available shades are 4
  2. Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Soufflé – Available shades 3.

Why???

  • They do decent job of covering skin imperfections.

Issue with Lakme Perfecting Liquid Foundation is there are no shade options for dusky skinned beauties. The issue I faced with Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Soufflé is that it doesn’t moisturise the skin. You might feel skin is way more dry at the end of the day.

If you like to spend more and get good foundation, go with Fit Me range from the brand Maybelline. You might have seen that foundation in most of my YouTube videos. The price of it is Rs 525 and they have shades for most of the skin tones. I am pretty sure you will find right shade for yourself in that range.

Concealer –

Assuming you are new to makeup,I would suggest you to read this post about concealer before buying one.

Also, I have already reviewed the concealers I have tried, in this post.

They may or may not be within the budget, but they work well.

Kajal –

You know how much I love eye makeup. Kajal is something I am never satisfied with. Often buy and try different Kajal from different brands. Even though my interest lies in different coloured Kajal or eyeliner, I am restricting myself to basic stuffs here.

For basic black Kajal, I would suggest the one from the brand Himalaya Herbals.

Why???

  • Pocket friendly price of Rs 45. I mean, we can’t ask for lesser than this.
  • I don’t say it’s a total smudge proof formula. Because, honestly there is no smudge proof as such. But with the amount of money we are paying for this Kajal, it’s totally worth it.
  • It’s a deep black shade. Looks lovely on eyes.Find the detailed review of Himalaya Herbals Kajal here.

Eyeliner –

Stepping out without eyeliner seems like stepping out n*ked. Check this post of mine to know the feeling of an eye makeup lover.

For black eyeliner, I have always loved gel liner from Maybelline. Maybelline New York Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner – Black.

Why???

  • Price is Rs 525. But this little pot of eyeliner gel goes long way. Little amount is enough to draw lines on both eyelids.
  • Nice pigmentation.
  • Comes with applicator brush.
  • Lasting power is good too.

For beginners who are not well versed with drawing eyeliners, go with gel ones. Because gel eyeliners are not as runny as liquid ones. If you try drawing eyeliners using liquid eyeliner in the beginning, you tend to face these two issues:

  • You going to end up making lot of mess and become a panda eyed human.
  • There is high chance that you lose confidence and stop trying eye makeup.

If you know basics of drawing eyeliners and want a really good budget friendly eyeliner, go with this liquid eyeliner from the brand Lakme – Insta Liner Eye Liner. (Detailed Review Here).

Why???

  • Price is Rs 110.
  • The pointed brush is just perfect to draw sharp lines.
  • It’s intense black eyeliner.
  • Lasting power is decent but for the price we are paying it is a good deal.

Blush –

Without going overbroad, try some of the blushes available out there. My suggestion for a budget friendly blush would be one from the brand Miss Claire, Single Big Blusher. I have tried the shade 31 which is a beautiful peach shade.

Why???

  • Price is Rs 225.
  • They have 17 shades of blushes to choose from…!!!
  • Pigmentation is quite good.

Eyeshadow –

You must have seen me creating this glossy eye makeup look in this video.

Where I have used glitter shadow from M.A.C. If you want to try eyeshadows and spend less money on it, then go for the ones from the brand Wet and Wild i.e. Wet n Wild Colour Icon Eyeshadow Glitter Single.

Why???

  • Price is Rs 135.
  • They have single coloured eyeshadow pack. You can buy shades you like instead of buying entire pallet, which you might not use much, it’s a good idea to buy single/ separate shades you liked the most.
  • Pigmentation is good.
  • They have both glitter and matte finished eyeshadows.
  • They also have good range of colours to choose from.

So, these are some of the products I had bought in the past and worked for me. Hope you find this post useful for an economic shopping.

I Tried Couple of Nykaa Hand & Nail Crèmes and This is What All I Have to Say About Them

When we meet and greet someone, we usually say hello by waving or shaking hands. Hence there is high chance that your hands not go unnoticed. Taking care of them should be in the list for this prime reason.

Hand cream is something my handbag essentials for a very long time. All thanks to my dry hands. Huuh.

A month ago I bought these hand creams from Nykaa. Nykaa has come up with their own line of cosmetics and skin care. There are seven different varients in this range. Out of which I chose two of my favorites.

IMG_20180814_165201.jpg
Mygirlypedia

Let’s see how it worked or not worked for me.

PS: this post is not sponsered by Nykaa.

Flavors I chose:

  • Peony & White Lily
  • Freesia & Vanilla

What company claims:

Peony & White Lily

Flirtatious Peonies mingle with the regal White Lilies to give sweep you to a mystical dreamland with its exquisite fragrance. Peony brings dollops of freshness, while noble White Lilies leave your hands wrapped in sweet, romantic scent.

Freesia & Vanilla

Dive into the sensuous, gourmet scent of intense vanilla wrapped in a fresh bouquet of hand-plucked Freesia. The free-spirited freshness of Freesia is mellowed down with the ever-so-sweet Vanilla, offering you a blend that give your hands a warm, fresh hug.

IMG_20180926_173830.jpg
Mygirlypedia

Packing:

These are quite tiny tubes. Plus, the lid is quite tight. So no worries about need for large space in your handbag or any spillage.

Each flavor has different outer packing or this tube. In one word, it’s girly. Each varient can be differentiated by it’s cool floral prints on the tube.

As you can see, the Freesia has this yellow floral print and peony has this beautiful red floral print.

Have a look at all the variants here.

Price:

275 INR each for 30 ml.

Shelf life:

35 months.

Once opened, best before:

24 months

My take:

As and when you open this tubes of nail and hand cream, one thing you just can’t ignore is their amazing fragrance. Trust me it’s so yummy that you feel like eating it. But yes they are not edible so you have to drop that idea, for good.

At first, it might seem over empowering. But the fragrance faints as soon as you wipe it against your hands.

Peony & White Lily smells like a mild flower. Very soothing one.

Freesia & Vanilla is my personal favorite. It smells exactly like one of the Victoria secret mists. A very sweet coconut fragrance with a hint of Vanilla. Smells delicious.

IMG_20180926_173924.jpg

Consistency:

Off-white cream, neither runny nor sticky. Non greasy and non oily.

Miniaturization:

Main business. Is it serving it’s major purpose? The Freesia and vanilla has such a beautiful aroma that my baby sister also bought it. My hands are way more dry than hers.

It didn’t really work for my extremely dry hands. I could still feel the need of hydration even after applying these creams.

IMG_20180926_173839.jpg

But it did work for my sister. She has normal to dry hands. She could feel her hands more soft than before.

Things I loved:

  • Cruelty free.
  • Paraben free.
  • Easily available online.
  • Fragrance is amazing.
  • Travel friendly.
  • Attractive packing.
  • Tube packing is hygienic as compared to tub one.
  • Works for normal to dry hands.

Things Which can be Improved:

  • I find it slightly more pricier. Because I know some hand creams which we get more quantity for almost same amount. Plus, which works well on dry hands.
  • Fragrance fades as we apply the cream. I find it a con because the fragrance is good and I was expecting it to last a bit longer.
  • Didn’t work on extremely dry hands.
  • Girls with sensitive nose might find the fragrance over empowering.

Will I repurchase?

No. I didn’t find it worth the price as it didn’t work on my hands.

Will I recommend?

If you have normal to dry hands and love amazing fragrance, you can give a try.

Review of The Most Pocket Friendly Kajal I have Ever Used

You guys have seen my review of the most budget friendly eyeliner I have ever used. Today, I am gonna review the super pocket friendly and super cute Kajal I have used so far.

The other day when I had been to a local drug store to buy some essentials, I just happened to see these cute little Kajal packs. I tried not to add them in my cart. But ahhh I couldn’t. You know how much I love eye makeup products right???

This cutie is from one of the renown brand, Himalaya Herbals.

I have used different products from this brand like, body lotion, lip balms etc. Which I really liked. This one is not an exception.

Let’s see why I liked this Kajal.

Brand –

Himalaya Herbals

Price –

Ahh it’s just 45 INR for 1g…!!! That’s why I said it is a pocket friendly one.

Click On Below Image to Shop

OR You can buy one here.

Shelf Life –

3 Years.

Ingredients –

Almond oil, Castor oil, Camphor, Damask Rose, Triphaia.

Packing –

The outer cartoon looks something like this.

It has all the details about the product.

The product comes in a bullet packing. This is so tiny and cute, can definitely be carried with you in your jeans pockets/ purses. I can say it is pocket friendly in terms of price as well as the travel friendliness.

Outer cap has this green, which is a typical Himalayan product’s green strip with all the details.

Plastic used for this bullet doesn’t seem to be super sturdy. There are chances that it might break.

The transparent tube makes it easy to keep track of the quantity of product left. Plus, the pointed tip makes application super easy. You don’t have to carry a sharpener to sharpen the tip to draw thin lines.

Fragrance –

I love the fragrance of these Ayurveda or home made Kajals. This Kajal smells the same. It’s not so over empowering too. So, even gals with sensitive nose can opt for this.

In case you want to know how to prepare Ayurveda/ pure Kajal or Kohl at home, do check this post.

Texture –

Texture is soft. It glides very softly.

Color payoff –

This is a deep black shade. One swipe is enough to get the dark look. Check the picture of my eyes where I have applied the kajal on waterline as well as eyeliner on eyelids.

Staying Power –

Anyways, company never claimed about it’s staying power. But in general, we do judge an eye product mostly on it’s staying power. Don’t we?? This one stayed till end of the day, like for 7-8 hours. But it did fade. Was not as intense as it was when it was applied.

Does it smudge???

Yes it does. Its not smudge proof and water proof.

I must say, I have so many other Kajals in my collection, for which I have paid way more than this one. But this Kajal had minimal smudge under my eyes than some of the expensive Kajals I own. For the money I am paying, I am ok with this minimal smudge.

Does it gives cooling effect??

Unlike what the company claims, it didn’t give any cooling effect as such.

What I liked –

  • Value for money.
  • Minimal smudge on my oily waterline.
  • Travel friendly packing.
  • Availability.
  • Color payoff is good.
  • It doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals.

What I didn’t like –

Even though it smudges a little, I am happy with it’s work. For the money I have paid, nothing to complain about.

Will I repurchase???

Even though it seems so tiny, little goes long way. So will definitely buy one more once I finish this. Chemical free, tiny, fairly working kajal, which doesn’t burn my pocket, so why not.

Will I recommend???

Definitely yes. Especially those gals who are taking baby steps into teh world of eye makeup. Who doesn’t want to spend more on eye makeup till they are confident enough. This one is definitely a yes.

Mygirlypedia Rating: 4.75/5 (For minimal smudging I am deducting minimal point. hehe )

Concealers I Recommend For That Flawless Look

Hello pretty,

In one of my set of posts for makeup beginners, I had included a whole post for this flaw covering product called concealer. Yes,this is the product used to get flawless skin look. It covers skin problems like blemishes, spots, dark patches etc.

Everyone has bad skin day. These unwanted pimples can come anytime. Uhhh. So keeping these concealers handy would be a wise choice.

I do have couple of concealers with me. They are from my favorite brands – Lakme and Maybelline. Which I’m gonna quickly review now.

Lakme Absolute Color Intense Concealer:

There are 3 different shades available.

  • Honey (05)
  • Medium (03)
  • Fair (01)

Click On Below Image to Shop

I chose the shade 01.

Best part it comes with SPF 20. So, hello summer. 😉

Price:

600 INR for 3.6 g. I bought it from Nykaa for 413 INR. Thanks to the sale with 25% off.

Shelf Life:

2 years.

Packing:

It comes in a bullet packing just like a lipstick. The grey and silver packing is kind of sober yet attractive. The transparent plastic cap is tight but not so sturdy. I had broken it ones. This is my second tube. So you don’t have to worry of any spillage but you should be cautious that you won’t break the cap.

The twist and apply technique is very handy. You don’t have to use any applicator as such.

The transparent cap also makes it easy to keep an eye on the product left. The shade number is printed at the bottom of the pack. Which helps in differentiating the shade.

Fragrance:

It has a faint fragrance of candies. Smells yummy.

Consistency:

The product is creamy. The results or finish it gives is a matte finish. But it doesn’t dry the skin.

Coverage:

This is the main point for concealer. The coverage it provides is light to medium. I can’t say it totally hides the pimple marks, but it make them appear faint. But this is good enough to cover dark circles.

What I loved about Lakme Absolute Color Intense Concealer:

  • It has SPF 20.
  • Coverage is good.
  • Travel friendly packing.
  • Twist and apply parking is handy.
  • Availability.
  • Value for money. Little goes long way so the quantity of product for the price is good.

What I didn’t like:

  • Shade availability is very less.
  • Second concealer I absolutely love is the one from Maybelline.

Maybelline Newyork Fit Me Concealer:

Shades available:

4 shades are available.

  • Light (10)
  • Sand (20)
  • Medium (25)
  • Cafe (30)

Click On Below Image to Shop

I chose the shade Sand (20) for me.

Price:

525 INR For 6.8 ml. (Buy from here)

Shelf life:

3 years

Packing:

It comes in a tube packing like lipgloss. The transparent plastic tube is sturdy. The black cap is tight.

The shade number at the bottom of the tube and the transparent pack makes it easier to recognize the shade and the quantity of product left.

Fragrance:

It has mild fragrance of some chemical. It’s so mild that it’s hardly noticed.

Applicator:

The dove feet applicator is soft and Veryyyy easy to use. This makes the application super easy.

Consistency:

It’s a liquid concealer. Not runny though. The finish it gives is dewy and soft finish.

Coverage:

This will last in my makeup bag for long now because of the coverage it gives…!!! This hides the flaws really well. I was super annoyed by the pimple scar I had last week. Trust me it was so dark that it was a good reason to get annoyed. Lakme concealer I tried made it look light. But it was still noticable. Uhh. But this concealer hid it so well. I loved it. So I can say the coverage is pretty great.

What I like about Maybelline Newyork Fit Me Concealer:

  • Coverage is awesome.
  • Travel friendly packing.
  • Comes with a nice applicator.
  • Doesn’t dry skin.
  • Totally worth the money.

What I didn’t like about Maybelline Newyork Fit Me Concealer:

  • Doesn’t has any SPF content like that of Lakme.
  • Shade availability is less, especially for deeper skin tones.

Which one will I repurchase???

I would definitely go for Maybelline because of its coverage. SPF content is not my concern as I can apply some good sunscreen on it separately. Hehe.

Which one will I recommend???

My recommendation depends on your skin needs.

If your main concern is dark circles and you like products with sun protection contents, go for Lakme.

If you have different skin problems like pimple scars, dark patches, unevenness then go for Maybelline. This gives you a great coverage. You can add SPF product later. What’s say???

I hope these quick reviews will help you chose the concealer for you. If you want to know more about concealer do check this post of mine, where I have explained everything you need to know about it.

Replace Your Boring Kajal With This Sparkling One…!!!

Hello,

Are you a lover of eye makeup products…??? Can’t live without kajal and eyeliners…??? Well, this post will interest you… 😉

It’s time to drop our old gel liners… This year it’s all about gloss and glitters… To add the spark to your eyes, you don’t have to buy a box of makeup glitter separately… Anyways we really don’t get that much time to apply liner and then apply glitter on it… Isn’t it…??

Let’s drop our old liners and get our hands on this sparkling black kajal… Let’s get to know it better… What’s say??

Brand :

Rimmel London

Kajal Name:

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal

What Product Claims:

Shades available :

  • Sparkling Black
  • Black
  • Brown

Shade Name :

Sparkling Black

Price:

345 INR 1.2 g

Shelf Life:

3 years

Packing :

This comes in typical pencil form. A sparkling black pencil to be precise. Need to keep sharpener handy.

The cap is tight. Sooo tight at first that, I had to put all my energy to open it. But, unfortunately I ended up breaking the tip. You will get to know ‘why’ in texture section below.

Texture :

It’s creamy soft. Glides smoothly on waterline.

Color payoff :

This is a black shade. Not the deepest of black. What I love the most is these tiny sparkling particles.

At first, I wasn’t really happy with the amount of sparkle it added to my eyes. But after it got settled on my eyes, the shine was amazing.. Got compliments for that shine too… #blushing

Does this smudge:

Let’s accept this fact that there is no kajal or liner, that doesn’t smudge. Goal is to find a kajal which smudges less. This one just right to serve this purpose…

It smudges very less. Usually I have to bug my friends at office to keep a check on my kajal whenever I don’t get a mirror. Yes I do. They laugh at me but they help me to know whether it’s smudged or not. #typicalgal

Staying power:

Stayed for 6 to 7 hours with a bit of smudging.

Can we use this as eyeliner :

Yes. I did apply this on both on eyelids as liner and on waterline as kajal. It look amazing…

What I like :

  • Color payoff with sparkling black. I loved it.
  • Smudges less.
  • Glides smoothly
  • Affordable.
  • Available online. Hence availability is not an issue.
  • Travel friendly.

What I don’t like :

  • It could have been retractable pencil packing. Because while you sharpen the pencil, you do end up wasting some product.
  • As the product claims its not Waterproof, sweat proof, heat proof etc. It does smudge.

Do You Know Which is the Most Pocket Friendly Eyeliner

You know how much I love Kajal. I can’t step out without applying kajal or eyeliner. After a lot of practice, I can apply eyeliner neatly now. For which I get a lot of compliments. If you want to know how I apply eyeliner, I have a easy breezy steps listed in this post.

If you are a beginner, I would suggest you to go with gel eyeliner. As liquid eyeliners are runny and need practice for the application. A single mistake can ruin the whole look. Gel eye liner is consistent and can be rubbed off even if you make slight mistakes.

Having said that, if you are a ‘pro’ in applying liner and looking for pocket friendly eyeliner, I have a suggestion for you.

Let me review the super pocket friendly and super affordable liquid eyeliner I have used till date.

DSCN0274

Brand :

Lakme

Name of the Product:

Lakme Insta Eye Liner

Price:

75 INR for 9 ml (Very less price for a very good quantity. We pay a lot of money for a very little quantity like 2-3 ml. #Seriously)

Shelf Life :

30 months

Ingredients:

Not Listed.

What Company Claims:

The Lakme Insta-Liner comes in a small package with a sleek, thin brush which is also portable. The brush holder of this product is of a comfortable length, thus making the application of the eyeliner easier. It has a deep, black colour that gives users a fine definition to their eyes. The liner is liquid so it might take time to dry out, but it gives users an attractive finish.

Since this product does not dry out too fast, beginners will find this product easy to use. They can draw it and reapply the smooth liquid as many times as they can until they are satisfied with the look. Once this eyeliner has dried out, it remains on for the entire day without getting smudged or smeared.

The water-resistant formula of this product makes it last for a long time. Users can attempt several different looks with the Lakme water-resistant eyeliner. They can use it to draw a thick line or a thin one to suit whatever look they want to go with, making their eyes look beautiful in an instant.

Packing:

It comes in a glass bottle which resembles a nail paint bottle. The glass is sturdy enough not to break even if it slips down from your hands. #Tested

Needless to say, this tiny bottle can be carried while you travel. Thus it is a travel friendly product.

Texture:

Its runny.

Color:

Deep black.

20171101_223019.jpg

Applicator:

I kind of like this applicator. Its tiny but long enough to draw lines comfortably. The pointed brush helps you draw thin lines too, hence making it ideal to try out different eye makeup styles.

My experience:

I wasn’t sure enough to try a liquid eyeliner. I should admit that, initial couple of times  I had ended up looking like a panda while trying this liner. Because liquid liner is runny. It gets on your eye lashes too. Plus, it does not dry quickly. In order to rub the extra liner, you end up looking like a panda. All thanks to deep black color.

But as I mentioned earlier, if you are a ‘pro’, then you will love this eye liner just like I did. The intense black defines your eyes beautifully. The applicator is so thin that you can create thin eyeliner to thick eyeliner look easily.

Yes it does take a bit time to dry. But once its dried, it stays for good amount of time of 6-7 hours.

PS: I prepare my eyelids well before applying a liquid liner. – Do check this for more info.

Will I recommend this??? and why???

Yes I will recommend this to those who love and know the application tricks.

Because,

  • Its affordable/ super friendly to our pockets.
  • Travel sized product which can be carried easily.
  • Deep intense black shade defines eyes nicely.
  • Applicator is soft and pointy. Thus making thin liner look easier.
  • Good staying power.

Points which didn’t work:

  • It’s not water resistant.
  • Ingredients not mentioned.
  • Dries bit slowly. (I have some other liquid liners, which dries really quick)

If you are a eye makeup lover like me, do try this one out.

Let your eyes do the talking.

Khadi Natural Fruit Herbal Face Mask Review

Hey,

Remember my quick haul with my friend where I had picked up a dud product…??? The product which I’m gonna review today is also been shopped that day…

I have a good collection of face packs. But when see something herbal written on it or something with good packing, I always endup picking it up. So this herbal fruit  face mask is from the Indian brand, Khadi Natural.

DSCN0254

I had a very bad breakout when I had used their face washes. It was horrifying for me. Those pimples. Phew…

Even though I have bad experience with Khadi products,  I chose to give this mask a try. Read on to know about product and  my experience in detail

Price : 145 INR

Shelf life:

36 months

What product Claims and the Ingredients:

DSCN0252

Packing:

As you can see in the pictures, it comes in steel box. Which can be used further once you finish the mask.

Inside themail box, the mask or the powder is packed in thin plastic sheet. I have removed the cover so it’s not seen in picture.

The quantity as you can see is almost half of that of the container.

PS: I have used this mask couple of times now.

The lid is very tight thus it makes perfect travel friendly package. But take care of your nails while opening

Fragrance:

It has a very mild fruity fragrance. Which doesn’t irritates. It’s kind of soothing fragrance.

DSCN0255

Texture:

It’s color and texture is just like fuller earth.

My experience:

As written on the pack, I mixed the powder with rose water. Made a thick paste and applied it on my face. It does give a little cooling effect. Dries off quickly.

I felt it’s fuller earth just with added fragrance.  Because the after effect was just that of multani mitti. My skin was left clean and oiliness was totally gone. It didnt lighten the spots on my face though.

DSCN0251

I liked the mask because :

  • Packing
  • Ingredients seem safe and chemical free
  • It did left my skin clean and absorbed oiliness.
  • Pocket friendly
  • As it claims, it gave glow, tightened pores and improved skin tone with just 2 uses.

What I didn’t like:

  • It didn’t lighten dark spots.
  • It didn’t hydrate skin.

Will I repurchase??

Honestly,  I don’t really like smell of fuller  earth. Since it does the same work as that of fuller earth, I will buy this.

Will I recommend??

If you have stock of fuller earth, you can miss this. This is not a must try product. If you are bored with fuller earth just like me, go for this fruit mask.

5 Short Reviews of Body Lotions I have Tried for My Dry Skin

Hey,

Mygirlypedia was quite silent for last few days, as I was unwell… All thanks to the unpredictable climate… Its sometimes hot and sometimes rains… Phewww….

Since the weather outside is getting colder day by day.( Winter is coming…!!!!), my skin is slowly turning dry. As I have my squad ready to combat dry skin, I am writing this post for you so that you get prepared for fighting against dry skin too.

I have tried a lot many body lotions. Read ‘lot many’ twice. #wink So here are reviews of  some of the body lotions I had bought more than once, for my ‘dry skin’. Read on to know my take on these.

Himalaya Herbals Intensive Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Body Lotion

cocoa-butter-intensive-body-lotion

This I had picked up once I was traveling. The word ‘Cocoa‘ is enough to sale a body lotion for me. Plus, this is travel and pocket friendly. When it comes to its effectiveness, this didn’t help with dark patches/marks but it did moisturized my skin for a good amount of time for 5-6 hours. Compared to the money I had spent on this, I was happy with the results.

Price: 126 INR for 200 ml

Dove Indulgent Nourishment Body Lotion

Lotion 23

Once upon a time my mornings were incomplete without this lotion. Post bath must was this one. It smells heavenly. It locks moisture for a very good duration of 7-8 hours. I will definitely recommend this to you. Between I cheated on this lotion for the next lotion, ONLY because I was kind of bored with this one. (Excuse me if this sentence sounds weird.)

Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Glow Butter Lotion to Dry Skin

412ggRBcxeL

This is my most favorite body lotion. No matter how many times I get bored and decide to try something new, I end up coming back to this.

Again the Cocoa, the one who adds glow... The fragrance is delicious(trust me it is). Apart from doing its regular job of adding moisture, it does lighten the dark patches or marks on your skin. Thus making your skin lighter and glow. The moisture it locks stays for really long. For me, its a magic. I apply it in the morning post bath. My skin stays moisturized through out the day. ..!!! Highly recommended for dry skinned beauties. Also it is affordable and available in local drug stores.

Vaseline Healthy White SPF 24 Triple Lightening

vaseline-healthy-white-spf-24-triple-lightening-lotion-100ml

Another version of the previous lotion but smells entirely different huun. It had added benefits of SPF 24 which helps in protecting skin from harsh UV rays. You might be thinking do we really need SPF during winter. I would say yes. The cloudy weather and the sun rays are deadly combination for skin. They do more harm. Thus SPF is must. If you ask does this really works when it comes to skin whitening… I would say the effect was kind of temporary. Skin feels light when its on. As the lotion fades, natural shade of skin gets visible. As per as moisturizing is concerned, it does a moderate job.

Price: 263 INR for 300 ml

Hope theses short reviews were helpful for dry skinned beauties like me to buy a lotion to get rid of the dryness.

Do let me know if you need few more options. As I have tons of lotions in my list, I can write short reviews for few more.

Greenviv Lip Scrub : Review

Hey,

Happy Friday gal..!!! For a change, I am waiting for Saturday instead of Friday. Because Saturday is working day for us. #Sob Sob.

So, today’s post is a lip care product review. You know the importance of scrubbing by now. All thanks to multiple skin care posts on Mygirlypedia. #Wink

Due to dehydration or climatic conditions, our lips tend to get dry. And nobody likes chapped, dry lips…!!! #Uhhh

So to scrub away those dead skin cells, we need to scrub the lips. You might have read my post about home made lip scrubs. But, we might not be able to carry those home made scrubs all the time. Today, I am gonna review a handy, hand made lip scrub for you.

Read on whether its worth buying.

Brand: Greenviv

Price – 199

Ingredients:

Shelf life: 18 months

Packing:
The scrub comes in a transparent, round plastic box. Plastic is of good quality hence no worries of breakage.

Is it travel friendly??
Yes the tiny box can be carried even in the jeans pocket for a quick help.

Flavor:

This one is chocolate vanilla one. There are multiple other flavors available in this range.

Color of the scrub:
As you can see in the picture, its brown one.

Texture:
It has buttery base and has sugar granules in it.

Fragrance:
It has mild fragrance of coca. Smells like a candy…!!! #ChocolateLover

How to Use??
Apply the scrub on wet lips and scrub gently. Wash lips with water after scrubbing.

My experience With Greenviv Lip Scrub:
I liked the mild fragrance and this is not sticky and non greasy. The sugar granules are not sharp or harsh to skin.
But I am disappointed a bit because it does not clean up lips perfectly, even after scrubbing for longer time. #Sob A bit of dry skin is still left on the lips.

Will I repurchase??
Umm No.! I will try some other brand.

Will I recommend???
Its not a must buy for extremely dry lips.

This one can be recommended for those who are looking for non-chemical, pocket friendly lip scrub.
