The Body Shop Mango Body Yogurt : Review

Hello,

Body lotion is something which is a must for us, whose has dry skin. As I had promised in my last product review post, I am reviewing body lotions from my collection, one by one.

While picking up the lotion for review, I noticed that I have many products from the brand ‘The Body Shop’. From their skin care range to hair care, I have most of them. #Shopaholic.

So, today the product I picked up is this body yogurt from the brand The Body Shop. These body yogurts were introduced somewhere last year. They have consistency of yogurt and as usual I was very excited to try something from this new launch. tada… I did. They have claimed that it is best suited for dry skin. Let’s see how it worked for my dry skin.

Brand : The Body Shop.

Range : Body Yogurt

What Does The Company Claims:

1) No time to moisturise? Now you do. Our Body Yogurts can be applied straight onto damp skin, so you can shower, moisturise and dress straight away.

2) They’re 100% vegan (we love cruelty-free beauty!).

3) Each Body Yogurt is enriched with Community Trade organic almond milk from Spain.

4) They have a fast-absorbing, non-sticky, non-greasy, gel-cream formula that leaves the skin feeling moisturised for up to 48 hours.

Flavours: Yes, they are available in five different flavours. Trust me, they all smell delicious. Even a friend of mine smelled the body yogurt and she was like, “get me a spoon, I will eat this”. haha.

The 5 flavours available in Indian market are:

  • Mango (Which I loved the most.)

  • British Rose

  • Strawberry

  • Almond Milk

  • Moringa

  • Banana

PS: You can click on each image above to buy the flavour you like.

Price: Rs 845 for 200 ml

Shelf Life: 32 months. Once opened, 12 months.

Best part : It’s cruelty free. The Body Shop has special place in my heart because of their cruelty free products and the campaign they started to stop poor animals getting harmed while making cosmetics. 🐰

Packing:

It comes in this cute, little, sturdy plastic tub pack with all details printed on it. The colour of the tub is in match with the flavour of the product inside. So it makes it easier to recognise the product without having to opening it up. The plastic cap covering the tub is quite sturdy and tight. Thus you can carry it while you travel.

Only drawback I can see in this kind of packing is the hygiene. Because with tube packing you can squeeze out the required quantity of product out and use. Whereas in tub packing, you got to dip your fingers to take out the product. So in terms of hygiene, tube packing over tub packing, always.

Fragrance:

It smells delicious. Are you a lover of mango??? You are going to love this. As soon as you open the pack a very sweet fragrance lingers in air. I must say this fragrance is quite strong. As I love this fragrance, I don’t find it as a con.But girls with sensitive nose might find it little over empowering. Good thing about this fragrance is, it fades away soon, post applying on skin.

Colour:

This is definitely a yummy colour.

Consistency:

This is a gel + cream like consistency. Very light. It is non greasy, non-oily. Once applied, gets absorbed really quick.

My Experience:

I did apply this post bath when skin requires moisture the most. As I mentioned earlier, it got absorbed quite fast and made my skin feel smooth. Which most of the lotions do.

Real test for a body lotion/ body care product comes during evening. Where skin becomes dry again. But for a surprise, my skin was feeling normal. It wasn’t dry as it always does by evening. As company has claimed 48 hours moisture and my skin wasn’t too dry, I skipped re applying it in evening to test the claim. But by morning my skin had become dry again. So, out of my experience, 48 hours might not hold true for dry skin. But I must say it did a good job by keeping skin moisturised all throughout the day.

Pros:

  • Kept my skin moisturised all throughout the day.

  • Light formula.

  • Non greasy, non-oily.

  • Little quantity is enough as compared to body creams.

  • Yummy fragrance.

  • 5 different flavours to choose from.

  • Travel friendly and cute packing.

Cons:

  • Tub packing is quite problematic when it comes to hygiene.

  • Some might find it pricey.

  • Fragrance fades away quite soon.

Will I recommend this to you???

Yes if you have dry skin and no time to re-apply lotion, this one is for you.

Will I repurchase?

Yes. I prefer these kind of body care products while I travel, where I don’t get time to sit and apply lotion frequently. Apply once a day and you are good to go kind. But next time, would like to try out different flavour.

The Body Shop Almond Milk and Honey Body Lotion : Review, Swatch

Hello Beautiful,

Body lotion is something which is really essential for my dry skin, especially in winters. Usually I do get tired of same lotion so I happen to try many varieties of body lotions/ creams. I will review one by one of those which I have not reviewed on my blog yet. Meanwhile if you want to know what are on my top of the best body lotion list, check here.

So, today I am reviewing this white beauty from the brand “The Body Shop”. 😊

I still remember the day I had bought this beauty. The moment I entered the store, I could smell this fragrance. I immediately asked the sales assistant their, about this product. She showed me this range of products and rest is history haha.

Let’s see how this product is.

Brand: The Body Shop

Range : Almond Milk and Honey

Price : 950 for 200 ml

Click the below image to shop.

Shelf Life : 3 years. Once opened 12 Months.

What does the company claims?

48 Hours light weight moisture, absorbs instantly. Instantly relives the feeling of tightness and itchiness for sensitive, dry skin. Comforts, protects and restores moisture for sensitive dry skin.

Best part : It’s cruelty free. The Body Shop has special place in my heart because of their cruelty free products and the campaign they started to stop poor animals getting harmed while making cosmetics. 🐰

Packing : It comes in a tube packing, with all the details of the product printed on it. The design of milk, almond and honey looks beautiful. The white tube (sorry I had bought this tube last year and if the tube doesn’t look pretty white, don’t blame me. 😋) packing is quite hygienic as compared to tub packing. You don’t have to dip fingers to take the product out. The flip open cap is tight enough to carry this lotion without the fear of spillage. The tube contains 200 ml of the product. I can’t say that you can carry this easily in your handbag as it might take a pretty more space than any other travel sized lotions. But, it can be a good travel companion if you carry it in a travel bag.

Fragrance : It’s a very sweet and refreshing fragrance. If you love light note scents, this fragrance will win your hearts for sure.

Consistency : It’s a lotion hence it’s neither runny nor thick. Doesn’t feel oily or greasy once applied. Gets absorbed quickly.

My Take: I have normal to dry skin. Turns out really dry during winters. For which, I need a good moisturiser. This lotion claims to instantly relives the feeling of tightness and itchiness for sensitive, dry skin. Which it did. Post bath our skin screams for moisture. I did apply this lotion and as claimed it did relive the dry or itchiness.

But, I don’t really support the 48 hours of moisture thing. Because for dry skin, at the end of the day at least, you do need one more round of application of moisturiser. Even though I didn’t feel itchiness all throughout the day, but by evening my skin was dry again. So I can say 48 hours promise didn’t worked for me.

What I liked:

  • I bought this because of this lovely fragrance.Non greasy, non-runny formula.

Non greasy, non-runny formula.

    • Kept skin moisturized for good amount of time. Tube packing is hygienic.Travel friendly packing.

Tube packing is hygienic.Travel friendly packing.

Cons:

  • It claims that this is formulated for sensitive dry skin. But worked moderately on my dry skin.

  • 48 Hours moisture claim is not true for dry skinned beauties.

  • Falls slightly on the pricier side for the work it’s doing.

Will I buy it again???

Umm no. It did a moderate job on my skin. I have known some other body lotions which worked well on my dry skin with cost lesser than this.

Will I suggest this one???

It might not be a blessing for dry skin but it will work for those who doesn’t have one. If you have extremely dry skin and needs lot of moisture, you can skip this. Others can give it a try, especially the ones who love sweet fragrances and need less moisture to skin.

Things Which Are A Must In Your Handbags

Hello girls,

Some of you had asked me for a quick list of ‘handbag essentials’. So here are the things which I think are essential for our day.

Purse/Wallet:

Ahh world runs by money at the end of the day. It’s nearly impossible to survive without a wallet. So, yes, the cute little pursw or wallet comes first.

Makeup Pouch:

In order to be ready for last minute plans, for regular touch ups, here we have this tiny little guy called makeup pouch. I usually have my foundation and eye makeup basics like kajal, eyeliner and mascara. Needless to say, being lipstick lover, I always always carry minimum 2 shades of lipsticks. One for office wear and one for party types. You know, those sudden dinner plans…!!!

Hair accessory:

Especially, if you are long haired gal, you definitely can’t survive windy day with your hair left open. Even on bad hair days, tying your hair up can just help you feel better. So, I always carry hair stick with me. In case, you wanna know how I use them to tie my hair, watch this video.

Hand cream:

Sitting in air conditioned environment can indeed make your skin and hair dry. Hands being the most exposed part of our body, they tend to get effected more. Thus a good hand cream can help you maintain the much needed moisture. I love trying different hand creams. But one from the brand Fab India is my favorite, like forever.

Lip balm:

Just like hands, lips need good hydration too. So, applying good lip balm once in a while is necessary. I love this juicy balm from the brand the body shop.

Pocket Tissues:

I used to carry hanky. But I end up misplacing them. So, I opt for these tiny, travel friendly tissues.

Hand sanitizer:

We end up with hell lot of germs on hands throughout the day. Before consuming food or touching face, it’s preferred to sanitize your hands. Thus I carry this mini sanitizer always.

Sanitary pads or tampons:

Ahh those days. They can come anytime. It’s always better to be prepared. So carrying sanitary pads or tampons can be a good thing to avoid inconvenience.

Perfume:

It’s always a great idea to carry a travel size perfume with you. Because you want to smell good even after traveling in public transport or after a long day at work.

Mint:

Those stinking odor is such a turn down. To avoid getting embarrassed, carry mint.

Scarf:

I always carry a thin scarf with me. This can be used to cover your face and hair, to save them from pollution and sun rays. Plus, in case you encounter some wardrobe malfunction, this scarf can be of some use. You never know.

So this is my list of ‘must things’. Hope this helps you organise your handbag.

Did I miss something??? Do let me know in the comments section below.

Tanned Feet??? This Post Will Make Them Happy Feet

Sometimes it happens with everyone of us, that even though we know the solutions to our beauty problems, we are way too lazy to execute them. I mean we silently cry due to the issues we face but not ready to spend time working for it. #typical.

I know I have quite handful of posts for taking care of feet. But my feet are the most neglected ones, when it comes to ‘skin care’. I was so lazy to buy new pair of socks(ahh whenever I buy, one of them always always manages to disappear magically…!!!), that I used to travel to office under hot sun with my feet almost open(I rarely wear closed footwear). You don’t really have to think much about the consequences I am facing because of that. Ummm tanned feet…!!! Arrggghhh…!!!

tan feet
They are not my feet. haha. My feet are tanned evenly. #sob

Skin covering our face is the most delicate one, where as the one covering feet is quite hard. Hence the care which needs to be taken differs. Even though I do know the steps I need to take care of to keep feet look fresh, I am bit lazy to follow them.

I am writing this post to share my ‘knowledge’ and with the hope to start following them by myself. Starting from today.!!

Prevention is better than cure:

ForU-New-2015-canvas-shoes-women-casual-shoes-fashion-brand-women-flat-shoes-woman-white-shoes.jpg

Don’t be as lazy like me. Always cover your feet too when you are going out in hot sun. A good quality shoes are the better option. This helps in preventing your feet from getting tanned. Also, in monsoon it helps in protecting feet from fungal infections caused by dirty water on roads. (Most of the Indian women can relate to this.)

Scrub:

Foot-Exfoliation-with-Sugar-Scrub-.jpg

Those dry, cracked heels look really bad. (I don’t have that issue. All thanks to sweatty feet). To get rid of dead skin cells and tan to a certain extent, all you need to do is scrubbing. A pumice stone or a good foot brush will help you with this.

I use the one from The Body Shop. You can buy it from here.

Foot Mask:

mask2

Yep, just like you would treat your face to get rid of tan by applying face packs, you apply a nice foot mask. There are multiple brands who have introduced so many nice foot packs and masks to the world. For removal of tan, I’m gonna list out some of the natural bleaching agents you find at home. You can mix them or can apply them individually.

PS: Click on the ingredients you wanna know more about, how to use, why to use etc.

  • Foot Cream:

athletes-foot-apply-lotrimin-cream.jpg

To lock in the moisture in order to enhance the texture of skin, all we need is a good moisturiser. I recommend this amazing foot cream from the brand The Body Shop. I had gifted this foot cream to my mom couple of months ago. She just loved it. I am sure it will work for you too. Check the full review of the foot cream here.

So this is how we can make our tanned feet a happy feet…!!!

I hope you try these at home and share your experience in the comments section… 🙂

If you know any more tips, do share. I would love hearing and trying out beauty recipes. 🙂

Is Almond, Milk and Honey Shower Cream from The Body Shop A Best Pick???

Hey pretty,

Who doesn’t like a long shower or relaxing bath…!?? We all do. I know not everyone has the privilege of enjoying a long bath in a bath tub. (nor time to enjoy it every morning)… Least we can do to enjoy the bath is to chose a nice aromatic bath gel or a bath cream. Usually post bath, our skin scream for more moisture. Choosing a moisturizing shower cream would be a wise idea.

The other day I had been to The body shop outlet in Westend mall Pune to do a mini haul. Since I was bored with the shower cream I was using, I picked up this one. Only point which made me pick this up was its fragrance. It’s a sweetest fragrance. Smells like sweet candies.

Well, did it any good to my skin??? Read on…

Brand:

The Body Shop

Flavor:

Milk, almond and honey.

Price:

495 INR For 250 ml

What Product Claims:

Calm as you cleanse with this gentle, soap-free shower gel – specially formulated to respect your skin’s natural moisture barrier and pH. This gentle formula won’t strip your skin of moisture. Enriched with organic almond milk from Spain and Community Trade honey from Ethiopia, Almond Milk & Honey is specially formulated for sensitive, dry skin.

  • Calming and caring shower cream
  • Leaves skin feeling soft, clean and cared for
  • Suitable for sensitive, dry skin
  • Made with almond milk Enriched with Community Trade honey and almond oil
  • Hypoallergenic fragrance
  • Dermatologically tested
  • Enriched with community trade Almond Milk from Spain

Packing:

Comes in a transparent sturdy plastic bottle. Transparency makes it easy to get to know the quantity left inside.

The flip open cap is an advantage. As you can squeeze the bottle and get required quantity of cream out.

The cap is quite tight so no worries of spillage.

PS: in the past I have used many shower gels from The Body Shop. If you drop the bottle down, you might end up breaking the cap. Thus making it difficult to carry while you travel.

Till you break it, you are good to carry this with you while you travel.

Color :

White

Texture :

Creamy

Fragrance :

This is a typical the body shop fragrance. This the fragrance you smell when you enter the shop.

This is a fresh candy fragrance, neither light nor empowering fragrance.

Does it lathers well :

Not really. That’s the major difference between a shower gel and a cream. Shower cream is thick in texture thus doesn’t lather as good as a gel does.

Is it moisturizing :

Yes shower creams are moisturizing than a gel. This one is moisturizing. Post shower it doesn’t makes my skin dry. But you do require a good moisturizer post bath in winters. For summers a lighter body cream will do.

Does the fragrance lasts for long :

No. This is a turn down. Post bath also I could hardly smell that sweet fragrance.

Will I repurchase?

For the fragrance while bathing, may be yes.

Will I recommend???

Yes to those who love candies’ fragrance.

Review of The Lip Tint Which is On My Lips Today

Hey,

Who doesn’t like products which serves multiple purposes??? We all do right??? This was the very first reason I opted for this product which can be applied on lips as a lip color and as well as a blush on cheek.

Sounds cool??? Well, let me tell you one thing – most of the high brand lipsticks can be used as a blush or eyeshadow. But chances are that due to their thick consistency they might clog your facial pores and cause breakouts. Where as using the ones which are formulated to serve these purposes, is quite safer.

So one of my favorite cosmetics and skin care brands – The Body Shop has this multipurpose product – Lip and Cheek Stain.

Lets get to know every detail of this range and of course my take on it.

Brand :

The Body Shop

Price:

995 INR for 7.5 ml (Now offer price 895 INR)

Shades Available:

Shade I Own:

003 Red Pomegranate

What Does The Company Claims:

This dual-¬purpose liquid stain gives lips and cheeks a natural pop of buildable colour. Use under lip gloss for a show-¬stopping -pout and dab onto cheeks for a natural-looking rosy glow.

  • Liquid stain
  • For lips and cheeks
  • Natural effect
  • Buildable colour
  • Dermatologically tested

Packing:

It comes in a plastic bottle. It resembles a nail paint bottle. Plastic used is sturdy and lid is tight enough to carry this tiny bottle with you.

Applicator:

The applicator is dove feet shaped. Soft and helpful for a easy application.

Texture:

Liquid like consistency. But dries off quickly.

Shade:

Its a red shade. Color payoff is good on lips. Looks quite natural. This can be pulled off by the beginners too.

But color payoff would have been much better on cheeks. (Check the picture where I have rubbed off the tint just like we do for any blush.)

IMG_20180405_173500__01__01.jpg

Fragrance:

Very faint fragrance which hardly smell. So if you have sensitive nose, you can use this without any fear of strong smell.

Staying Power:

Honestly I am disappointed with it’s staying power on lips. It stays for max an hour and a half. Not more.

As a cheek stain, it’s work is nothing extraordinary. It is hardly visible on cheeks. Need multiple swipes to get it working.

Is it moisturizing???

Ummm I can say it did add a bit of moisture and didn’t dry my lips.

Does it Transfers??

Yes a bit. But that’s ok. Almost all lipsticks do.

What I liked about The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain:

  • Cruelty free product. No furry friend is used for testing the product. #happyMe
  • Travel friendly packing
  • Good quality applicator
  • Fragrance free formula
  • Doesn’t dry lips.
  • Didn’t break my skin when used as a cheek stain.

What I didn’t like about The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain:

  • Expensive
  • Color payoff could have been improved.
  • Staying power is very less.
  • Need multiple swipes if used as cheek stain.

Will I repurchase???

Umm I love The Body Shop products. But this one is a big no for me.

Will I Recommend???

I didn’t find it worth the money we are paying. Because from a lipstick the first thing we expect is the staying power. I am not happy with that. So may be a No.

Dry Brushing – What??? Why???How???

Winter makes our skin dry and flaky. Isn’t it??? We do take a good care of our face by exfoliating it and by using different products. What about body??? Those dry arms and legs will never let you look good…!!! By taking a little more effort alternate day, we can achieve that perfect glowing skin. When the effort I’m talking about is so easy, I am sure you will include this in your beauty regime for sure.

So, today’s beauty treatment is for the removal of dry skin layer. How??? By exfoliation of course. But, this is a different from all other exfoliation methods. Dry Brushing.

ss_dry_brush-e1389626245989

As it sounds, we are going to use dry brush to brush away dry skin. It has multiple benefits apart from making skin soft. Wanna know in detail??? Read on…!!!

Let me start with right brush selection. After all we need a right weapon to win the war… Just kidding..!!!

Right Brush:

There are multiple types of brushes available in the market which are used for dry brushing. Frankly speaking, different brushes works differently on different individuals. So, what I would personally suggest you is to get the brush from a local drug store instead of purchasing it online. Because you don’t know how soft or hard the bristles are. Thus, you better check it before buying it. Also, most of the online sites do not provide return options on personal care products for obvious reasons.

One more point to check for while choosing a brush is the length of the handle. It should be long enough to reach your back comfortably.

I use this little one for dry brushing.

You can find something like this brush for dry brushing comfortably.

Once you are done with getting the required stuff, lets know how it is done.

How Dry Brushing is Done ???

It is simple. You got to do this treatment before taking shower or before getting wet. Thus the name ‘dry brushing’. Also make sure you are doing it inside bathroom because when you brush your body, the dry skin flakes do fall on the ground(for extremely dry skin). So, to keep the process clean, carry it in bathroom.

670px_Dry_Brush_Your_Skin_Step

  • Brush your body with the help of brush gently.
  • Major point to consider is, you need to start brushing your feet first then legs and end it on your chest, towards heart. I will tell you the reason behind it.

What are the Uses of Dry Brushing ???

There are multiple uses of dry brushing your body. To list few :

It Stimulates Lymphatic System –

Lymphatic system is nothing but the system which is responsible for eliminating cellular wastes. Lymphatic tubules which are said to run just below the skin layer should function properly in order to keep our body away from toxic impurities. If they don’t, the accumulation of toxins may cause to some serious health issues. So, when you dry brush, the lymphatic tubules are stimulated. Thus increase their productivity. It is done bottom up manner because, the lymph systems drains in heart. Hence always brush towards chest area.

Exfoliation :

As I have mentioned, the dry flaky layer of skin gets brushed away. Thus leaving skin soft, supple. Glowing skin – Brushing helps in stimulating blood vessels. Thus increases the blood circulation which results in glowing skin.

Cellulite check

Reduces Cellulite –

This is quite common among ladies. Cellulites are nothing but the cottage cheese like dimple on the skin. Usually thighs, stomach, back, around the hips, buttocks and breasts. It has been proved that the regular dry brushing do reduces the cellulite. #HappyDance

Energy Booster –

Many people claim that, dry brushing boost their energy level. You can use this as a stress buster too. Wow stress buster which leaves skin soft, double treat isn’t it???

Cleans the Pores –

If you use soft brush on your face, it is proved to clean the pores perfectly. BUT make sure the bristles are really REALLY SOFT. You do get FACIAL BRUSH in the market.

I use this one from body shop for serving the purpose.

71hfMvbh6DL._SL1500_

Now, if you are considering this technique,

here are some of the things you need to take care about –

  • Be gentle. Do not brush the skin roughly, if you do so – you will end up doing more harm than good.
  • Post bath, don’t forget to apply good moisturizer to seal in the moisture.
  • Hygiene is important. Always clean the brush with warm water and soap to keep it germ free.
  • Mainly, do not over brush the skin. Because you don’t want to steal the natural oils of skin. Do you??? I would suggest you to do it on alternative days if your skin is extremely dry. If not, 2-3 times a week should also work for you.
  • Do not use body brush for exfoliating face. Facial skin is very delicate compared to body skin. As I have mentioned above, opt for a facial brush for dry brushing face.
  • Usually dry brushing is done in the morning. Since it has been proved that it increases the energy level, you might end up losing your sleep if you do this exfoliation in the evening.

Voila..!!! Now you know one more exfoliation method…!!!

Hope you find it useful…!!!

Which is Your Foot Cream This Winter??? Here is Mine

Winter is here…!!! My most favorite season of all. I love sleeping inside cozy blankets while it’s chilling outside.

As much as I love winter I hate the way it treats my skin. It’s the season of dull, dry and flaky skin if you don’t take a proper care of it.

In order to keep our skin care army well equipped, I’m gonna wrote a series of posts about winter Care.

Most exposed body parts like face, hands and feet need more care in this season. You can find the hand creams which I recommend here.

DSCN0320

I will soon come up with the best face creams for you. To start with let me start with the foot cream which has worked best on my dry feet.

Before I start with the review, some of my friends asked whether the body shop has sponsored the products. No its not sponsored…!!! It’s all the end result of my Shopping… !! Well, I wish I could get their products for free. But, only those which had worked for me. There are some products which didn’t do anything but broke my skin badly. So even if I get it for free I’m not gonna take that. #never

So let me tell you one thing – my skin is normal to dry. My feet are the first victim of winter cold. They get super dry, like a drought land. Trust me. My heels gets cracked… But not like a worsened cracked heels huun… I do take care of it that my feet doesn’t look disgusting. Never.

For dry feet, an average foot cream is of no help. Need a super moisturizing cream. Since the skin covering feet is thick it needs heavy cream.

A couple of months back I had been to The body shop. In order to accumulate points, I had to pick some extra product. #confessionofashopaholic

I ended up picking this product. A random product. I always swear to use a foot cream daily but I stop using after couple of days. But, winter…!!! I have to have to use one.

Since I had tried this before for couple of days, I picked this up for this winter.

Read on to know about the product and about my likes and dislikes about this pick.

Brand –

The Body Shop

Product name –

HEMP Hard Working Foot Protector

Targeted skin type – Ultra Dry Feet

Price –

995 ₹ for 100 ml

DSCN0325

Shelf life –

30 months

Ingredients –

Not mentioned

Packing –

This comes in a tub packing. #Unhygienic as I have to use my fingers every time to take the product.

Tub or the sterdy box is of light green shade with cap in black shade.

It looks something like this.

Fragrance –

It has a very strong smell of herbs. Because of the empowering smell, I had stopped using it at first. Now that I have to use, I apply it on my feet and immediately wash my hands.

Texture –

The light green shaded cream is very thick in texture. But it doesn’t feel Oily or sticky when applied.

DSCN0332

Did it work??

I have been using this since last one week. Post shower in the morning and before hitting bed in night. I must say, it’s so moisturizing that it did helped my feet recover right from day 1. My skin on feet looks like a grandmother’s feet due to cold weather. But applying this has helped my skin moisturized and looks smooth.

I have been using this on my cracked heels. It is helping to cure them too. But it is taking some time to heal the heels.

What I like –

  • Does what it claims, of protecting feet. It did help in making my feet smoother
  • It helped in curing cracked heels.
  • Availability
  • Little goes long way. This tub will be sufficient for me to survive this winter.

What I don’t like –

  • Tub packing is unhygienic.
  • Strong smell.
  • Ingredients not mentioned.
  • Pricey.

Will I repurchase???

Yes. My dry feet will thank me for this.

Will I recommend???

If you have extremely dry feet like mine, do give it a try. I’m sure you will be happy with your purchase.

Mygirlypedia Rating – 3.75/5 ( Deducting for all the things I didn’t like)

Happy winter…!!!

British Rose, Fresh Plumping Mask Review

Hey,

I have been a loyal customer and fan of The Body Shop. From foot brush to face creams, I have tried different products of this brand. Fortunately some have worked amazingly.

I have many products to review from this brand. Among which, I have already reviewed lipsticks. Which have been one of my favourites. Today, I’m gonna review a face pack which I had bought half a year ago.

Read on whether this face pack falls under ‘worked’ or ‘didn’t work’ category.

There are multiple face packs available in this range.

Brand name : The Body Shop

Product Name:

British Rose, Fresh Plumping Mask.

Price :

2495 INR for 75 minutes

Packing :

DSCN0262

This face pack comes in a sturdy dark glass box, with pink stickers. The lid is quite tight so no worries of the product getting spilled. But, tub packing is unhygienic. Because you will have to dip your fingers in, to take the product out.

Texture :

DSCN0265

It’s a bit runny. Has rose petals kind of particles.

My experience :

As written on the box, I applied a layer of face mask on cleansed face. It’s not runny so doesn’t drip. After keeping it for 15 minutes, washed with water.

I have used it for 3 to 4 times till date. This was my experience every time:

It Hydrates skin. Improves the skin tone. But, the other day I always always get pimples. #sob I explicitly tested this mask once and when the pimples were gone. But every time I ended up getting pimples. This didn’t work for me.

Will I repurchase??

No I won’t buy this pricey face mask again. I have some more face packs which do the same job without any breakout.

Will I recommend??

I don’t recommend this rose flavoured face pack.

List of Best Cosmetics, Along With Best Makeup Tips

Hey,

Diwali is just around the corner, you can find a lot of makeup, beauty and health tips in mygirlypedia.com soon….

So let me begin with a list of affordable yet the best makeup products as per different skin types.

If you are new to the world of makeup, no worries…!!! I have links for the posts which I had written earlier about details of these products.  Like how to apply, why we use. Sounds cool???

Let’s start the list to know the products that suits your skin types and needs.

If you wish to buy them, I have provided online link as well.

Primer :

For every skin type –

I would suggest one from L’Oreal Paris, Base Magique.

wp-1508236512296..jpg

Foundation :

Are you thinking whether to use it or not? Have doubts about how to apply? Allll your queries regarding foundation will be solved here.

Normal skin –

‘Fit me’ range from Maybelline is good with maximum coverage. Plus, it has many shade options which means almost everyone gets their ideal foundation.

Oily skin –

Tea tree BB cream from The Body Shop is good with medium coverage. Tea tree is proven to be good for sensitive skin.

Dry skin-

everything comes with pros and cons. Bad news is you will have to invest in good moisturizer. Best part is once you are done with applying moisturizer, you are good to use any of the foundation.

But still if you ask any particular suggestion, I would say ponds CC cream is ideal for dry skin. It’s moisturizing and covers all pigmentation and marks.

wp-1508236511736..jpg

Concealer:

You know why the Concealer is a must??? Check this post to know everything about Concealer.

Lakme concealer is been the best one so far. It’s creamy and gives you a perfect glow by hiding all the unevenness of skin. SPF is one more added benefit of this product.

Face powder:

Normal and Oily –

Face powder from Revlon, Faces is good. It doesn’t feel caked up. They are light and many shades available too.

wp-1508236512001..jpg

Dry skin –

I personally feel dry skin beauties should avoid face powder because it absorbs oiliness and makes skin more dry.

Lipstick :

Moisturizing –

Elle 18 has one of the best moisturizing and super affordable lipsticks. There are 18+ shades to chose from. Starting from INR 100.

Matte –

Chambor Matte lipstick (You can check full review here.)

Also colorbar has some amazing shades of matte finish lipsticks,  priced 300+ INR.

wp-1508236512549..jpg

Lip gloss :

Maybelline has some very nice glosses. (Check the review here.)

Eyeshadow :

Buy Maybelline n*de eyeshadow pallet. They have multiple pallets to choose from. Soft colors to metallic colors… They have all…

Check the colors for yourself here.

Blush :

I liked the Blush from Maybelline. It’s super pigmented with affordable price.

You can also use your lipstick as your eyeshadow or Blush…!!! I do so. It’s super handy. You don’thave to go and look out a matching eyeshadow or Blush. But you save money. #yeahhh

Kajal / Eyeliner :

I love this Hyper glossy liquid eyeliner from Maybelline. Pigmentation, longitivity and price both are super cool. I have posted my whole experience here. I have posted my whole experience here.

If you are fond of eye makeup and want any help, this post is for you.

Mascara :

I have used mascara from multiple brands. But for me, one from Oriflame has been the best. It’s dark pigment and the applicator wand makes it an ideal one.

Couple of Best Hair Serums for Dry Hair

Hey,

Many of my friends and colleagues have been asking about which hair serum do I use for my hair. So here is a quick reviews of couple of hair serum I have tried and which has luckily worked for me.

Hair serum is something like leave in conditioner. Due to weather, change in water or due to I’ll health, our hair tend to become rough and dry. Resulting in split ends and hair fall too. So, it’s a good idea to use hair serum to keep hair moisturized. Let’s see which are the best hair serum I have tried and my recommendations for my beautiful reader.

L’Oreal Paris Smooth Intense Hair Serum

When I had moved to Pune for the very first time, due to change in water my hair had turned dry. So this was the very first hair serum I had ever tried.

This non greasy serum Smells nice… A very mild fragrance. Travel friendly bottle makes it a good pick. What I really didn’t like much is the flip flop cover and dispenser. Flip flop cover is quite delicate. It breaks if you drop it. (Happened with me most of the time) It’s a normal hole dispenser. So yet times you might end up taking more quantity than required. Because if you apply more you might end up with greasy hair.

Best part is, it did solved the hair problems of mine. This Dis made my hair smooth, easy to manage. Plus the cost is quite less for the quantity we get. Little coin size amount of serum is more than enough to serve the purpose.

Price : 250 INR for 100 ml

You get it in local drug store as well as online.

The Body Shop Grape seed Glossing hair serum

I was a bit bored with the previous serum so tried this serum from one of my favorite brands. I’m glad I picked it. So this not Oily in texture. Has a mild smell of grapes. Little quantity goes long way.

The pump dispenser is the added plus point. You can take out as much quantity you want. It does helps your hair from getting dry and adds shine to it.

This serum falls on the expensive side. But it’s totally worth every penny.

Price : 995 INR for 70 ml

Available online as well as in The Body Shop outlets.

I hope you guys find this useful and have any queries do post it in comments section below.

Review of My Most Used Lip Balm

Hey,

People keep asking me, “you use lipsticks so much, don’t your lips get dry???”… Ummm more than lipsticks the air conditioner makes my lips dry. So, I always keep a lip balm handy.

Now, the obvious question… Which one???

Let me review my most used lip balm till date.

Brand : The Body Shop

Range : Born Lippie

wp-1504540295268.

Flavor : Strawberry (my favorite 🍓)

Tint : Red

Price : 275 INR

Ingredients :

wp-1504337664532.

Availability : In the body shop outlets and online.

Packing :

Comes in semi transparent plastic box. The cartoon has this red lips design on it.

wp-1504337664715.

Sturdy box with tight lid is super handy.

What I liked about it

  • The color, the flavor was enough for me to pick this one,the first time. 💋
  • The fragrance. The yummy strawberry fragrance makes you feel like eating it. Trust me. The other day, the lip balm was lying on my table in the office. One of my colleagues picked it up out of curiosity. He opened it and he asked me about it. I said it’s my lip balm. He had thought it’s something edible sweet. Haha.🍓 Thank God, he didn’t taste it. #sigh
  • It hydrates lips well. It keeps lips moisturized. 💋
  • Along with moisturization, the Tint and shine it adds is amazing. Lips look luscious and shiny. It’s more kind of lip gloss. 💖
  • It’s vegan. Being an animal lover, I love the body shop products as its cruelty Free. 🐇
  • Little goes long way. Hence worth the money. 💰
  • Ingredients list seems safe one. 💊

What I didn’t like

  • It doesn’t do much if you have extremely dry lips. When I have very dry lips, I use the lip scrub and then apply this balm. It works that way. 😕
  • Tub packing is unhygienic. Every time I have to dip my fingers in order to take out the product and apply it on my lips. Thus there is a hygiene concern. 😕

Will I repurchase

It’s my third box. I will repurchase the same flavor. I love this color out of all other flavors. 😍

Will I recommend

Yes. You will love this lip balm. I guarantee. 😉

Home Remedies for Cracked Heels

Hey,

One of the most ignored parts of our body is feet. Agreed??? Do observe heals of those well dressed ladies. At least 6 out 10 of them have cracked heels. It looks so odd.

If you don’t want to be one of those, read on.

Reasons for cracked heels:

  • Aging
  • Lack of moisture
  • Improper diet
  • Dehydration
  • Improper foot hygiene

If this is not treated, it might lead to blood loss and worsen foot condition.

Let’s start with cleaning the feet:

  • Dip feet in warm water. You can mix a bit of bath salt or vinegar to the water. This makes skin soft. Thus helps scrubbing easy.
  • You can also add hydrogen peroxide to the water. It removes dirt.

  • Scrub. All you need is a good foot brush with a scrubber. I use the one from the body shop. You can use pumice stone too, for scrubbing away those dead skin from feet.
  • Once you are done scrubbing, wash your feet with warm water and wipe it with clean towel.

Let’s see different foot creams to heal the cracks.

  • This one is tried and tested by my mom. Take half bucket of warm water, mix honey to it. Dip your feet inside this water and relax for next 10-15 minutes. After that, apply a good foot cream, post rubbing off your feet. Honey helps in healing the cracks.
  • We South Indians make most of coconut oil. For foot care, we prepare a cream out of bea’s wax and coconut oil. It’s simple. Melt the wax and mix oil to it. You can keep this mixture inside refrigerator. Apply the cream on cleaned feet, before hitting bed everyday.

  • You can apply coconut oil (or any moisturizing oil) and turmeric mixture on cracked heels. Turmeric has antiseptic properties and coconut oil is a healer.
  • Ghee- Apply ghee to say bye bye to cracked heels. Ghee helps in adding moisture.

P.S. You can wear socks after applying creams. This will seal the moisture. And protects from ruining the bed.

  • Apply lemon juice to heels. This helps in cleaning and helps in recovery. But, applying this on cracked heels do results in tingling or burning sensation.

  • Glycerin. One of the best moisturizer. Apply glycerin on heels. Glycerin is bit sticky. Hence wear socks.
  • Foot cream. If you want the healing much quicker, go for some good foot creams available in the market. Will review some of the foot creams o have used till date.
  • Foot pack: just like face pack, apply a good foot mask or pack to restore moisture. To start with, you can apply Avocado mask. Smash a Avocado and apply it on feet and heels. Wash it after 10-15 minutes.

  • Aloe Vera. How can we not talk about Aloe Vera when it comes to moisture. Apply Aloe Vera on cracked heels. It gives you cooling effect and adds the much needed moisture.

So, these are some of the tried and tested home Remedies.

Do try and share your experience with us… 😇

Have a happy feet…!!!

The Body Shop Color Crush Shine Lipsticks 15,18 : Review

Hey,

Are you a lipstick lover like me??? If so… high five Its not just a makeup product. Its stress buster and mood booster. I have a box full of lipsticks. Mostly different shades of red and pink.

Even though I have many lipsticks/glosses, I hardly finish them. I have good options to try out so I hardly stick to a single shade. (Many of you can relate to this. Even though we own so many clothes, we narrow it down to only those which we feel comfortable in). So, last month this miracle happened. I actually finished whole tube of lipstick. I was so addicted to it that, I bought one more.

By the sneak peek and of course the title, you know the lipstick is from the brand ‘The Body Shop’. Yes I love Color crush shine range lipsticks to the core. They are my latest lipstick crush…!!!  blush blush

Yes I already have..!!

Will I recommend it to you???
Yes, if your lips are dry, these are saviors. These lipsticks are actually like tinted lip balms.

Sneak Peek at My Most Used Lipsticks

Hey,

Here is a sneak peek at my two favorite lipsticks.

I have a huge collection of lipsticks, glosses and liners. I rarely finish a lipstick completely. But, yes I have done that finallllllyyyyyyyy. Was very much obsessed with a lipstick of mine so much so that, I not only finished it using and also bought a new one. Same brand, same shade.
